    Seeking Rolling Energy Resources Reviews

Does anyone have intel on companies, such as RER in Colorado, who provide utilities in the US with "managed charging solutions" for EV customers? My electric co. has teamed up with RER to offer EV customers a $0.02 per kWh discount for off-peak charging. It costs nothing to join the program...

You can't make this sh*t up!

Very good summary of the current state of affairs in the US regarding EV adoption vis. global warming. Maybe a bit of conjecture in the Inside EVs article, but it does capture how detached from reality both political parties are on the subject. If where you are headed is usually where you end...

MB EQE SUV vs. Waiting for Macan EV

While running my Macan loaner through the car wash today (sorry Porsche, no hand wash for the loaner) look what popped out right behind me, an EQE SUV. The driver said that he worked for MB and was responsible for training dealers on the new tech. He also claimed that the SUV would show up...

Free DC Fast Charging Doesn't Suck -- Unless You are Paid by Qmerit to Promote Home Charging

https://insideevs.com/features/645302/free-electric-vehicle-charging-sucks/ I like some of Mr. M's videos -- especially the one in which he provides excellent instructions for charging my Taycan! But this paid-opinion-piece is too much to bear. Personally, I find Porsche's free DC fast...

Garage is hot, Taycan is cool. Normal???

My garage is stifling hot in the summer, but the Taycan, while plugged in and charging, seems pretty cool at all times. Out of curiosity, I felt around to see where the cool air was coming from and discovered the little fan behind the center console was blowing out cool air (where pictured)...

Taycan v. WTF is this thing anyway?

It is of course the Chinese HiPhi Z, yet another EV that boasts speedy 0-60 times, lots of "futuristic" tech, and design language borrowed from the Pontiac Prozac/Aztek team. The most noteworthy aspect of this car is that it comes (no pun intended) with a little robotic arm to interact with the...

Apple iCloud Private Relay (Beta) and Apple Car Play Problems

A few days ago I picked up an article about the iCloud Private Relay which is apparently in beta and available to iCloud+ subscribers. I thought, what the hell, more privacy is always a good thing so I followed the instructions (attached below) and flipped it on. What could possibly go wrong...

    What's a Person to Do?

The following is the actual text of an e-mail I received from an elderly colleague (radicalized by Fox News and OAN) who felt compelled to forward it to me after I gave him a ride in my Taycan. It is wonderful that concerned citizens/fossil fuel advocates are here to protect Taycan drivers from...

You don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows, but ...

I would like to know if there is snow, sleet, hail etc. in my immediate future now that winter is upon us. And so I recently configured my PCM to display weather -- very handy feature IMHO. I have only been in "weather watcher" mode for a couple weeks and now have no idea why somedays the...

Porsche needs a new ad agency ... or do they?

Assuming that virtually nothing is random with respect to product positioning and promotion in a multi-billion dollar industry, one can only wonder what is going on at Porsche HQ. Is their target demographic actually loyal Porsche purists (i.e. the type of people who love performance cars and...

    Weights for Taycan OEM wheels

I'm shopping for 20 inch aftermarket wheels to replace my OEM's. I cannot however find any reliable data online to indicate: (a) the weight of various Taycan OEM wheels, and (b) how far I can deviate (+ or -) from OEM wheel weight without adversely effecting acceleration, handling, range, etc...
