Two years in and 35k miles later, I continue to be impressed with the Taycan. 4 years into production and nothing beats this charging curve/ taper. Charging tonight from about 40% and past 90% still getting over 90kW!
Did some recording on the track with the help of a transducer mounted on the rear motor/trans and mic in the front (for tires). What do you think, annoying, stimulating? The usual track vids with EVs are just wind noises and the exhausts of the ICE cars nearby you so I thought I'd try to spice...
Sharing the track with a Rimac, I mean, a Pinifarina Battista today at Laguna Seca. It’s crazy to actually see what 1800hp is when they’re passing you… and the 3 GT3s in front of you. Mind boggling.

Lamborghini looking to unveil their 2+2 first EV on August 18. Is this going to be a sneak peak at the next Taycan underpinnings or is it just a Taycan with another body?
Here's the Estoque concept they showed years back.
And here’s the official unveil.
There’s several lengthy threads on here discussing Ford, GM, and other North American industry support for NACS going forward.
Let’s have a simple poll showing where Taycan owners stand on the issue. Are you for more charging options and reliability of Tesla’s SC network and would like a DCFC...
Apparently using the search field in the main screen can bring up some options that aren’t otherwise available through the settings menus. Wondering what other hidden options this group can find.
Here’s an example @ohniner found to toggle off the ‘automatic on’ when you enter the vehicle...
The first all-electric sports car, the Taycan…
Just came across this old document on my phone and thought of the numerous threads discussing whether the Taycan is a sports car or not, usually in reference to the 911. Well it is according to Porsche in the first sentence of this press release...
Calling for interest in a receiver hitch option or another run of the custom bars. I’ve received some more interest in the bike rack recently but wanted to present some other options.
I had a successful couple of production runs using the custom bars I made but they are only compatible with...
For anyone hitting thermal limits on the track, I did some experiments at a second outing at Laguna Seca with my CT4.
I was interested to see whether improved air flow through the radiators could help extract more heat and keep battery temperatures down, allowing us more laps before reaching...
Making the dad-mobile more track worthy. Went with a square setup so tires can be rotated easily with much more width up front to better match the weight distribution of the Taycan. 20x10 +55 offset is about as wide as you can go in the front with a reasonable clearance to the upright and tires...
Came across this post in the HPDRE group on Facebook. Has anyone here had a similar experience changing minds at the track?
TL;DR Anti EV guy instruct in passenger seat of a 4S, mind changed forever.
Is there anything the Taycan can’t do? Just got back from a camping trip up north in Del Norte Redwood State Park. Some gravel roads, a few stream crossings, fun winding roads…
And yes, that’s an X5M Competition keeping the Taycan company. Two awesome cars with really similar...
Any Sport or Cross Turismos in California interested in trading their black light strip for my Ice Blue rear light strip? I’m in San Jose but travel to San Diego.
It’s straightforward to remove if you’re comfortable with removing interior panels. 5 screws hold it on once the hatch panel is...
7/3: Sold!
Like new. Just detailed inside and out and they are perfect throughout. Includes black center caps.
$1700 picked up in San Jose or $1900 ready to be shipped on a pallet.
There is hope that the Taycan may get a standard hitch or tow bar in the future. Hope it also gets a tow rating.
The proprietary bike rack mounts might be a short lived experiment…

Just want to put this out there so in 10 years y'all can say I was ahead of the times back in 2022.
First time EV owner and first time at the track with my Taycan 4CT.
1. DC fast chargers will start popping up at tracks, right? Well, I bet mobile chargers will become ubiquitous first with EV...
Took the 4 Cross Turismo out to Laguna Seca on Wednesday with HOD. Open passing group on a weekday, pretty much had the track all to myself. It’s a heavy car built for the street, not the track. So if you’re into eeking out every last tenth of whatever you got, it’s still pretty fun. If you want...

1/16/2024 Update:
