My calculus is:
I'm going to need the adapter anyway, and it will take me 10 minutes to try it out at my local Supercharger, so I’m gonna try it.
If it doesn’t work now, that’s okay - I’ll be set for whenever access is granted.
There’s literally a filter in the app to choose your specific non-Tesla EV, and I have a Tesla account, so I presume that fact will authorize the session once I tell the app which charging post I’m using, but again, we’ll see…
We’ll see.
I added hypothetical BMW and Mercedes EVs to my Tesla account and my local Supercharger shows as an available charging location for those vehicles right now:
Rivians work too, and there are now several brands of non-Tesla EVs (including Hyundais and Kias) in the Tesla app, which was recently overhauled.
Check the map link I posted and click on a specific Supercharger to see the details about that site.
Here’s the site I’m talking about:
Tesla updated their website to show which Supercharger locations are compatible with CCS vehicles:
CCS compatible Superchargers in the US
…so I don’t think a Magic Dock is involved anymore, and that’s why I need the adapter. The Superchargers close to me don’t have Magic Docks, yet they show as...
Tesla's website suggests that the Supercharger about a mile from my house is now compatible with CCS EVs, so I ordered an adapter to try it out (on our GV60).
Hoping for the best...

FWIW, we have a set of Hankook ION EVO AS tires on our Genesis GV60P - they replaced the OEM Michelin Primacy AS.
The Hankooks are quieter and ride better, and the driving feel overall is better too. Efficiency seems slightly improved.
I'm a fan.
Drove a friend’s C63 AMG S the other day. Matte grey, limo-tint on the windows, “badass” car in every traditional sense of the word. As a matter of fact, during the drive a neighboring driver rolled down his window and yelled “Badass ride, dude!!”
Despite all of that, every moment I drove it I...
Wouldn't this be covered by the Comprehensive portion of your insurance coverage?
I had a similar incident on an Audi I previously owned. Insurance took care of the repair cost.
13% bigger battery likely means a similar increase in the weight of the pack.
Oooof, since the Taycan was already "Zaftig", with a capital "Zaf"! ;-)
Not a fan of systems that require extra actions to access full power (push-to-pass).
The charging speed looks pretty spectacular though! (with...
