  1. GM follows Ford with NACS Tesla charge port adoption -- time to ditch CCS1 (at least the physcial design)

My calculus is: I'm going to need the adapter anyway, and it will take me 10 minutes to try it out at my local Supercharger, so I’m gonna try it. If it doesn’t work now, that’s okay - I’ll be set for whenever access is granted.
  2. GM follows Ford with NACS Tesla charge port adoption -- time to ditch CCS1 (at least the physcial design)

There’s literally a filter in the app to choose your specific non-Tesla EV, and I have a Tesla account, so I presume that fact will authorize the session once I tell the app which charging post I’m using, but again, we’ll see…
  3. GM follows Ford with NACS Tesla charge port adoption -- time to ditch CCS1 (at least the physcial design)

We’ll see. I added hypothetical BMW and Mercedes EVs to my Tesla account and my local Supercharger shows as an available charging location for those vehicles right now:
  4. GM follows Ford with NACS Tesla charge port adoption -- time to ditch CCS1 (at least the physcial design)

    Not actually true: https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a60233608/rivian-gains-tesla-supercharger-access-free-adapter/
  5. GM follows Ford with NACS Tesla charge port adoption -- time to ditch CCS1 (at least the physcial design)

Rivians work too, and there are now several brands of non-Tesla EVs (including Hyundais and Kias) in the Tesla app, which was recently overhauled. Check the map link I posted and click on a specific Supercharger to see the details about that site. Here’s the site I’m talking about:
  6. GM follows Ford with NACS Tesla charge port adoption -- time to ditch CCS1 (at least the physcial design)

Tesla updated their website to show which Supercharger locations are compatible with CCS vehicles: CCS compatible Superchargers in the US …so I don’t think a Magic Dock is involved anymore, and that’s why I need the adapter. The Superchargers close to me don’t have Magic Docks, yet they show as...
  7. GM follows Ford with NACS Tesla charge port adoption -- time to ditch CCS1 (at least the physcial design)

Tesla's website suggests that the Supercharger about a mile from my house is now compatible with CCS EVs, so I ordered an adapter to try it out (on our GV60). Hoping for the best...

  10. EV Tires -- Everything you need to know by Engineering Explained

FWIW, we have a set of Hankook ION EVO AS tires on our Genesis GV60P - they replaced the OEM Michelin Primacy AS. The Hankooks are quieter and ride better, and the driving feel overall is better too. Efficiency seems slightly improved. I'm a fan.
  11. Thinking about trading my E63S Wagon for 4S CT - Is this a good or bad idea?

Drove a friend’s C63 AMG S the other day. Matte grey, limo-tint on the windows, “badass” car in every traditional sense of the word. As a matter of fact, during the drive a neighboring driver rolled down his window and yelled “Badass ride, dude!!” Despite all of that, every moment I drove it I...
  12. Small rock punctures radiator; warranty denied

Best of luck on the claim. I added aftermarket screens to my Audi after the experience too…
  13. Small rock punctures radiator; warranty denied

Wouldn't this be covered by the Comprehensive portion of your insurance coverage? I had a similar incident on an Audi I previously owned. Insurance took care of the repair cost.
  14. 🚨 2025 Taycan Officially Revealed! Specs, Wallpaper Photos, Videos & US Pricing

13% bigger battery likely means a similar increase in the weight of the pack. Oooof, since the Taycan was already "Zaftig", with a capital "Zaf"! ;-) Not a fan of systems that require extra actions to access full power (push-to-pass). The charging speed looks pretty spectacular though! (with...
  15. BBC NEWS- Electric cars: Lords urge action on 'misinformation' in press [CLOSED DUE TO POLITICS]

#1 encouraging all the other groups in addition to its own efforts is the likely answer. The fossil fuel industry profits amount to almost $3 billion A DAY. The answer is always "follow the money"...

  18. Drives in LA?

Angeles Crest Hwy - great road with several side roads that are worth exploring as well! Mt. Wilson Observatory is along ACH too and is worth a stop. Friday mornings there’s the “Good Vibes Breakfast Club” cars and coffee gathering at the old Newcomb’s Ranch restaurant parking lot along ACH...
