  1. 3 car seats in 2 back seat configuration

While I suspect that it is indeed feasible, Multimac will definitely not want to give you any comfort around that particular install, since they likely have not tested it. (Or worse yet, the device did not pass in that installation.) They have a specific set of test cases and went to the trouble...
  2. Porsche advertising via our Taycans?

This. I set mine up when I first picked up my car. In the nearly four years since I received my car, I have never once seen this kind of notification. I clicked on this thread because I had no idea what it could be about. So it can be eliminated!
  3. Rivian shocks with R2, R3, R3X reveals! $45K starting price, 0-60 under 3 secs, 300+ miles range

Hope these help them to survive the next two years. They don't have a source of unending funds like Lucid and can't keep losing money at the rate they have been doing.
  4. Any hopes for prior Taycan's for significant upgrade?

What examples of this are there? The battery is a huge portion of the cost of the car. Has Porsche ever offered to upgrade the engine on earlier generation 911s?
  5. Front and rear dashcam preparation option

FitCamX does have an available HD rear camera, but the sensor is a GC4653, not a STARVIS 2.
  6. Porsche Dealer Loaner Car Obligation in warranty scenario… a question (USA)

It really depends on the dealer you purchased from. In my area, there are two Porsche dealerships. One is smaller, and they regularly offer me a loaner, and I can get appointments the same or the next week. I don't take them up on it, as they pick the car up from my house and return it when the...
  7. Where to put the keys?

    In my pocket.
  8. All Season Tyres. Help please.

Agree. I would definitely pay for this service. As it is here where I live, I store my tires myself and change them myself because of the aggravation of taking the tires and the car to the dealer.
  9. What is your TRUE mileage?

In ~65 degree weather, I get about 290 miles full range. This was off of a trip that spanned about 160 miles, so it's not like I used the whole thing, but the projection and the actual usage all lined up.
  10. 0% Charge

No; you should try to avoid getting below 20% if at all possible to maximize battery life. While there is some question about whether charging to 100% is bad, there is very little dispute about whether this is.
  11. First Long Trip in 2020 4S - Pleasantly Surprised

That’s just it. I didn’t change anything. No range mode, no Innodrive/cruise control. I drove over 75 miles an hour (sometimes over 80) when I could (which wasn’t that often, admittedly) just to see what the result would be.
  12. First Long Trip in 2020 4S - Pleasantly Surprised

I took my first long trip in my 2020 4S. The car has PB+, Tech and Performance Packages and 20" Turbo Wheels. Since I have not taken any really long trips, I have always wondered how close the range estimate would end up being for me, since I have heard a variety of things. I direct charged the...
  13. Insurance - Tesla rates

I am curious to know how many miles/year you put on these cars. Any chance that is a variable? I am pretty sure that one of the reasons I have such a low rate is because I drive so little (4k mi/yr).
  14. My Porsche in Apple CarPlay

I know a lot of people in Legal and Risk fields, and I am not at all surprised at the way that the passenger screen was neutered. The way it gets posed is that product executives who are pushing for a feature get to add features that they want, and they will “own the risk” associated with the...
  15. Apple Maps stopped connecting to myporsche

Yes, remove it from your Apple Maps (click on your ID picture in the maps app and look for "Vehicles"). Then add it again from the My Porsche app. I have had to do this whenever I have travelled and used CarPlay in another vehicle. For a while, Apple Maps will think you are still driving the Taycan.
  16. September OTA Update Coming

The primary reason cited by Porsche is that they have historically outsourced a lot of the core programming software functions to suppliers, which therefore requires re-validating all software changes with third parties. Tesla is believed to have significantly less of these issues since they...
  17. September OTA Update Coming

I have a 2020, and I received the update. No idea really whether it really changed anything.
  18. OTA Software Update (July 17, 2023)!

I have received them as well. There was one update that seemed to push only to 2021 and 2022 vehicles, so discussion of that likely led to the conclusion. It probably had something to do with plug and charge, which is generally not installed on 2020s.
  19. "Porsche Taycan Class Action Lawsuit Includes California Customers" - Article

I think that the problem people have rightly noted is that there is an established remedy for this - you can lemon your car. Any lawsuit remedy would be vastly inferior to getting your money back. Hard to force someone to fix a car that they seem to be unable to fix. What you've described...
  20. Open car door from inside after power loss?

We have had reports of a couple of cars that lost all power. No one reported that they could not get out of their cars. Getting into them, however…
