I can relate to the article - when my Taycan was rear-ended, it took almost a month just to find a shop that would take the car and work on it. It actually had nothing to do with it beng an EV - the aluminum body seemed to be the bigger factor in finding a shop that could do the repairs...
I rolled it into the purchase of the car, but it was $7500 - I got a quote from a local place that came to $6900, so I could have saved a little, but it was easier to do it with the trade-in of the car instead.
Saw this today and thought people would get a good laugh - it's Porsche's 2023 Taycan Advent Calendar! Sadly, looks like it's not available in the US. :P

So sorry to hear that you are having issues - my 4S had the same red error and had to have the whole HV battery replaced just a couple months ago. I thought the HV battery issue was just a 2020 "feature", but I see you have a GTS ST... mind if I ask what year? I just stepped into a 2023 GTS...
Yeah, I was often able to get close to 300 miles in my 4S, and if I go off the range indicator right now, I'd be lucky to get 240 miles... but it is starting to creep up. I'll have some longer trips coming up for the Holidays and will have to see how it does.
Definitely faster, but like everything else, it's not such a huge increase that I'd say it's everything. I don't notice any difference in comfort in "Normal" mode, but in "Sport" mode I feels a lot tighter which I like. Mostly, there are a lot of other upgrades that I didn't pay for in my 4S...
Finally got a chance to wash my GTS and see it in the sun with the XPEL wrap - love out it turned out! Just need to get some clear front corner markers again!
Got the dreaded 'Electrical System Failure' on my 2020 4S finally after 40,000 miles and it required a new HV battery (which Porsche replaced for free). However, while at the dealer dropping off the car, they had a 2023 GTS ST that I fell in love with, and they were able to offer me a deal I...
Sorry for the accident - I know how painful and annoying it can be. Glad to hear everyone is okay.
My car was re-ended hard (55mph) about 5 months ago - no air bags deployed, and that came to just over $50k in repairs. Because your airbags deployed, I think you'll be north of my $50k point...
Sorry to hear about your car. :( While I'm US versus UK, I got re-ended without any chassis damage (just subframe), took 3 different body shops before I found one that was even willing to work on the car, and it ended up coming to $50k. The only "bonus" was that it only took 4 months to get...
I hated the rental (some FWD Hyundai), so ended up getting my son a car early (he just turned 15) and plan to drive that through the winter. Definitely not as nice as the Taycan, but reliable and will be better in the snow through the winter. Figured the only reason to keep driving the rental...
So finally have the results back - after 3 different collision centers and a barrel of fun with the insurance company, the total in damage came to $48k, and the insurance company will NOT be totaling the car. No major structural damage - the piece rubbing against the tire is a separate mounting...
Still waiting for the adjuster to look at the car, so no real answers yet.
In terms of what insurance pays out, I assume that it's more complex than just the cost of the repair (and residual reliability) because they get back salvage cost of the vehicle, correct? So the real measurement of...
The car did not 'blank' prior to or after impact, so it either didn't meet the threshold or missed the sensors (since it was an off-center impact).
I will say that even if the frame wasn't rubbing into the tire, the car would be extremely annoying to drive due to the multiple sensor errors...
