Tyre brand for Taycan - poor longevity with current

Happily running Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 Plus tires on my 2025 GTS right now. Not suitable for the track, but they do very well in the wet and cold. Much better than the Procontact RX tires - They performed poorly in the wet. I've had DWS06's on several prior vehicles and they helped me...

    Let's talk tires & rims

I’m happy running DWS 06’s on 21” rims right now. Have not yet tested on snow, but great in the cold Seattle rain. I’ve had them on other cars and they are quite good.

I need opinions & guidance on Continental ProContact RX all seasons

Had Continental Procontact RX all seasons. I was unimpressed with their relatively poor grip and that they hydroplaned too easily. If you stay in the Continental family, DWS06’s are very noticeably better. I have them on my GTS today as well as on multiple past cars. If you can find Michelin...

New Hankook Ion Evo tires for the GTS

These came stock on my 2025 J1.2 GTS. For daily driving, they are pretty darn good. Have not tested on the track. Currently running Continental DWS06 all seasons on my 21” winter Vossen wheels.

Tire Pressure Sensors (TPMS) - OEM and Aftermarket Resources

I have a 2025 Taycan GTS sedan and purchased these sensors from tpms.com. Happily working in my Vossen winter wheels. They are $80 each. These replace the OEM part number 95C907255A. Updated: These were ready to use - no programming. H0254-PORSCHE Porsche OEM Huf TPMS Sensor 95C907255A...

    Continental ExtremeContact™ DWS06 PLUS in OEM 21" sizes (J1.1)

I have the Continental DWS06’s on my 2025 Taycan GTS in the stock sizes. They are perfectly happy daily driving in the Seattle wet. They resist hydroplaning well and the road noise is pretty minimal. Range dropped a bit (5-10 miles overall) from summer tires. Definitely recommended for your...

[FAQ North America] - My non-Hubbell NEMA 14-50/6-50 socket is just fine !!

Amen to this! I had an electrician come in and add the charger circuit for me with a commercial-grade NEMA 14-50 socket. Fast forward a year, and I keep smelling hot plastic in the garage. Finally found the nicely melted NEMA 15-40 socket when I could not unplug the charger from the wall...

    EV tires best for Taycans

Just put on Continental DWS06 all-season tires on my Taycan for the winter. I’ve had them on several cars over the years and they perform quite well in the wet and snow. Road noise is slightly more than the Hankook Ion EV summer tires they replaced. (Nice!) I have a slight preference for...

PNW Taycan Meetup: Big Four Ice Caves Day Trip - 9/6/25

@jakeCT - I just wanted to say THANK YOU for organizing the event. Despite the little bit of confusion of the group drive, it was great to see all the actual people. And the ice caves were really cool too. It was great to see everyone! While I love phones, we have to assume that at least some...

Dashcam Install Recommendation (Specifically FitCamX) - PDX/SW-WA

Two items for the FITCAMX: 1. Gather the hardware and sw version info from your FITCAMX and write support to get the current firmware. Early versions were buggy and would stop recording. 2. Get a quality high-endurance SD card. Don’t go cheap here. I’m about to do my second install of a...

    Wiper blades

I tried Kimblade wipers and have been very happy with them. They wipe clean and last at least 2x more than Bosch blades. The blade design is non-traditional but they work well. They even have carbon fiber (look) if you want. On both my Taycan and wife’s Lc500. Recommended. https://kimblade.com/

    My tire PSA

Take a look at the post/thread below. I have had the Michelins for a while now and they have been great day-to-day tires through the Seattle winter. Also have them on my wife’s LC500...

Recommendation on phone holder that does not make mark on the interior?

Try a holder from Proclip - I have one in my Taycan and another in my wife’s LC 500. Sturdy and no marks. Recommended! https://www.proclipusa.com/pages/product-finder

Still like Michelins a lot for spirited daily driving. They have done well in the Seattle wet.

I'm STILL quite happy with my choice. They behave well in the wet and cold, no noticeable change in range, and reasonably quiet. Wearing well too.

First time EV owner, what charger for the house?

I’ve had good experiences with both an Enel X charger and now a 2-cable Grizzl-E charger. Both use a NEMA 14-50 socket. noted elsewhere, be sure to get an Industrial or EV rated socket. Anything less will melt. (Been there, replaced it.) the Hubbel socket is about $80 and it’s a beast. I’m...

    All Season Tyres. Help please.

If they are available in 20”, I can recommend Michelin Pilot Sport 4 All Seasons. They have been excellent in Wet and Dry in Seattle. More info here: https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/installed-michelin-pilot-sport-all-season-4-21-tires-on-taycan-4s-my-review-results.17283/
