New Porsche batteries coming with 800 mile range

Yeah, realistically, the longest range EV I expect to exist in the next 5-7 years and that I would pay extra for would be around 500 miles. I do agree that if charging was much faster, so I didn't need to spend more than 5 minutes or so at a rest stop, and was also ubiquitous along major...

Warning sounds while driving over a dip (depressions) at around 75+miles/hr

I can't say I've heard anything like that before. Maybe start with a bit of a simpler line of reasoning and make sure there wasn't wasn't anything loose either in the cabin or under the trunk floor. If not, you might be able to find something in the online manual about those sorts of warnings

New Porsche batteries coming with 800 mile range

It's not about driving 800 miles without breaks, it's about driving 800 miles and only stopping at the locations you want. Frankly, most of the DCFC locations I've seen (Midwest and NE USA) are not pleasant places to spend 30 minutes in the middle of the day, let alone after dark. I'd love to...

New Porsche batteries coming with 800 mile range

As someone that's a huge advocate for longer range cars, I will probably put my money where my mouth is when the time comes to buy something new and get the longest range possible. "Need" is probably too strong of a word, but there are perfectly valid use cases for much longer range cars. For...

GM follows Ford with NACS Tesla charge port adoption -- time to ditch CCS1 (at least the physcial design)

Yep, same deal as everyone else to get adapters in 2024, and 2025 models will have it natively, including Supercharger access. Man, it's getting harder to name companies that aren't moving to NACS.

    Taycan Sales Declining

What I sure do love about media these days is that you can easily flip this data to show that it's 4 consecutive quarters of increased sales, but they decided to take the negative angle on it. I really wish journalists these days really tried to challenge their own preconceived notions about a...

Moloughney: real world highway range of EVs - Article

290-300 miles is absolutely doable. I have a regular route I drive with fairly rural roads where I aim for 65mph (I set the adaptive cruise, and there's no passing, so sometimes it's a bit less). It's about 20-25 miles each way, so enough for me to get a decent average for the trip, and...

    MyPorsche app updated

FWIW, it seems to be the exact same thing on Android as well. I had added it about a week ago, but didn't realize that it was new.

GM follows Ford with NACS Tesla charge port adoption -- time to ditch CCS1 (at least the physcial design)

Obviously it's a matter of preference, but I don't think either BMW or MB are that far off from a car that I would strongly consider, especially if they had a significantly better charging network backing them up. Let's not get me thinking about my next car too much though, wouldn't want my...

GM follows Ford with NACS Tesla charge port adoption -- time to ditch CCS1 (at least the physcial design)

Yep, if BMW follows suit, they're absolutely going to take Audi/Porsche to the cleaners on EV sales if VWAG doesn't negotiate their own access to Tesla Superchargers. I'm pretty excited either way though. I'll plan to get something new in 2-3 years if I don't yet have supercharger access...

🎨 PTS: PAINT TO SAMPLE Taycan Club & Photos Thread

There's just something about driving home in a big rain storm, pulling in the garage, and gawking over how the water beads off your car even when you haven't washed it in a month, and did the ceramic coating over a year ago. Still loving the Acid Green, that's for sure.

Electrify America to Add NACS Connector by 2025, While Continuing CCS Support

The quote from the CEO isn't inherently wrong - " What we're really comparing is, is it a screw cap or is it a cork on the bottle, not the quality of the wine " - he just fails to realize that the 'wine' that we can get into our 'screw top bottles' with CCS charging has been pretty low quality...

Taycan driver wanted after back-to-back hits and run at 3 am in Los Angeles - Video

Exactly, this is about as simple as cross referencing the list of owners against cell tower records, and I have a hard time believing they even end up with more than 10 people who were in the area at that time. About the only way he could be less inconspicuous would be driving an Acid Green GTS...

Electrify America to Add NACS Connector by 2025, While Continuing CCS Support

Sir, this is a Wendy's press release. You're reading way too deeply into it. For all we know, EA is planning to have only some very mild support for CCS the same way they currently do for CHAdeMO right now. Announcing a full abandonment of CCS right now would also scare the heck out of...

Electrify America to Add NACS Connector by 2025, While Continuing CCS Support

Volvo/Polestar both mention supercharging access in their press releases: https://www.media.volvocars.com/global/en-gb/media/pressreleases/316416/electric-volvo-car-drivers-will-get-access-to-12000-tesla-superchargers-across-the-united-states-can...

Electrify America to Add NACS Connector by 2025, While Continuing CCS Support

It seems like little more than a formality at this point. EA (and presumably VWAG as a whole) are now planning to support NACS, and have no reason to not try to get their own vehicles compatible with the supercharger network. Tesla could in theory decline and tell VW to pound sand, but boy...

Electrify America to Add NACS Connector by 2025, While Continuing CCS Support

Nice, this makes NACS and Supercharger access for Taycans just about a sure thing IMO, and road trips should be an absolute breeze sometime in the near future.

GTS Sport Turismo review after 10000 km

Oh neat, I guess I'm also at just over 10,000km at this point in my GTS ST, so maybe I should share my thoughts too. I'll stick mostly to where I disagree a bit on things though. Acid Green: Objectively the best color. ;) Sport Turismo: Agree on losing the plastic cladding from the CT being...

MyPorsche is reporting Total Trip economy 13% higher than supported by individual trip data

It's alright, I figured it out. I had accidentally been driving backwards for a few thousand miles, and it must be generating power and throwing off the averages. Sorry guys! In all seriousness, I've got no clue. Every other metric in the website and app seems correct except for those...

MyPorsche is reporting Total Trip economy 13% higher than supported by individual trip data

Ha, if you want to see something really crazy, I think I'm setting some sort of record over here. It must be that green paint, now I know why PTS is so expensive And no, I don't have a single individual trip above 4 mi/kWh
