  1. GM follows Ford with NACS Tesla charge port adoption -- time to ditch CCS1 (at least the physcial design)

I think nobody denies that Tesla's supercharging network is superior overall. The physical characteristics of the connectors (CCS1 vs NACS) favor NACS. Personally, I haven't had many issues with CCS1 - wherever I've been using EA stations, *if* they were online, they worked. What really bothers...
  2. Podcast bug

I've had this same problem for a year now and finally solved it. I had to log out of apple podcasts, re-authenticated; it still wouldn't show the option to allow explicit content. Then I signed in with Apple Music and finally it showed a combined option to allow explicit content for both Apple...
  3. Experiences using EA superchargers on 80 heading up to Truckee Ca from East Bay (Walnut Creek)?

I've used the one in Rocklin: https://www.plugshare.com/location/186191 to top off, easily got me to Reno (starting from Half Moon Bay with about 85% SoC). I remember the one in Truckee had mixed reviews on plugshare.
  4. Poor Quality per JD Powers

Many of the brands in the table (ranking) don't even offer EVs (yet). Just another click-bait article.
  5. Issue Bulletin: Taycan - Vehicle Unlocks Itself Immediately After Locking with Comfort Access [May 16, 2022]

Yes, I do the exact same thing. So annoying to see it unlock immediately and turning on AC when I want it to lock (and sleep). Hitting lock button on fob about about 10 meters from the cars seems to work consistently.
  6. [US] DC fast charging noob question

Sorry in advance if my questions are too noob but I only just got my Taycan 10 days ago and I'm starting to learn about DC fast charging... This afternoon, I pulled into an EA charging location. This location (Crystal Springs Village Shopping Center, San Mateo CA) has 4 stations, each has two...
  7. MSRP Dealers (selling Taycan with no price mark-up)

Wanted to chime in here. Just took delivery of my Taycan 4S last week at Porsche Redwood city. MSRP as negotiated/promised last November when I put down the deposit [got on the wait list beginning of last September]. However, from reading here it's obvious it can depend on the car/trim etc. A...
  8. May delivery

My expected delivery date is 5/6 and after about 8 months of waiting, daily checking "track my dream" and for the last 4 weeks marinetraffic.com, Glovis Comet is closing in on the Golden Gate. Just took this picture about an hour ago. Excuse the poor picture quality - ship was a good 20miles off...
  9. Interview with EA Sr director Robert Barrosa

I'm not seeing this has been posted before here, thinking this is of interest and relevant to us: InsideEVs has a pretty decent interview on their podcast with electrify america sr director Robert Barrosa. There is the expected corporate blurb but also a refreshingly positive vibe about the...
  10. Taycan To The Arctic Circle Road Trip 2022

So no replacement wiper blade then?
  11. Taycan To The Arctic Circle Road Trip 2022

This does look rather icy. Out of curiosity, what average speed are you doing on roads like this? I understand you'd slow down upon oncoming traffic, but even without that, do you dare doing more than say 60km/h?
  12. Taycan To The Arctic Circle Road Trip 2022

Such an immense joy to follow you guys along on that road trip. Very inspiring. My Taycan is on its way to Emden so it will be a few more weeks until it arrives here. In the meantime, it's impressive to read about your meticulous planning and I'm so glad I'm reading all of this before embarking...
  13. Track Your Dream Updated to Old Build

Same here. Earlier today it said my car finally entered production (a few days later than scheduled); even got an updated build sheet from my dealer with the V260 code ("vehicle in production"). But this afternoon (like I have nothing better to do than checking TYD more than once a day) it's...
  14. Taycan road trip report: LA to Bay Area

So is that what everybody's doing before a roadtrip? As @Miwa above mentions, it's the fear of arriving at a broken charger that will prevent me from calling it so close (goal to arrive with 5-10% SOC). Not that I have had the chance yet to try.... car is being produced right now ;-)
  15. Porsche Taycan revealed as new Formula E safety car - Porsche Official Announcement

I really like that livery! Even though some of the stripe colors give me a bit of BMW M-sport vibe, but maybe that adds to the excitement? Anyway, I think it looks good. The usual high quality Porsche PR stuff.
  16. For those awaiting delivery, my experience after my first week...

Thanks for sharing and for the write up. My build (4S) locks tomorrow with an estimated delivery mid April. Like you, I have watched every single youtube video about the Taycan out there, been reading this forum religiously for the last 6 months - maybe too much (?!) ... all those reports...
  17. Porsche Intelligent Range Manager

What's the consensus here... is it worth getting this? I have another month until my build locks.
  18. The Difficulties of Restrained Driving

Awesome. Thinking of bonnet... the casserole didn't fit into the frunk? Seems like perfect place for transporting. Lovely story! Thanks for sharing
  19. Differences in GT Sport steering wheel option

So what exactly is the difference between the regular steering wheel and the GT sport steering wheel? I'm trying to decide whether the sport chrono package is worth it. The button to switch drive modes alone seems expensive when trying to control budget. I've read you can create a short cut to...
