@snstevens, I think that did it! Although, in the process I tried changing the Taycan Bluetooth name from "Taycan_xxxx" (xxxx=last 4 VIN digits) to just "Taycan", but that seemed to confuse both the PCM and the iPhone. Anyway, I reverted that back and then turned the car off and on a few times...

For some reason I'm not having the same experience. There is no change in the (annoying) behavior of the constant CarPlay interruption. I have iOS 16.5. In the iOS settings, I have used the "Forget This Car" option to disconnect my phone from the PCM, and then reconnected it, with no change...

I had the speaker unplugged on my '22 4S, and it's the same behavior as you mentioned; quietly closes using the trunk lid push button or foot motion, but not from inside using the center console touch screen. Small price to pay (never use it) for the silence!
