sorry for taking so long to respond. Here you go.
the last picture from the shop was included just so you can see how much variance there is in how it photographs. It’s really hard to get the true color. The first three are closest - it’s much darker than the reflective finish might make it...
for the tint and wrap, it was ~$9500 out the door. This guy has a great reputation and now I know why…they were incredible. Can’t recommend them highly enough. In fact, already referred a local forum member who has their car there now.
Here are a couple before and after shots of my car with Xpel Stealth full body wrap, wrap on the rims of the Mission Es, amber side marker replacement and tint. Hard to get photos that fairly reflect the color since light radiates off of it, but I think these are pretty close. I'm very pleased...
So, I had this situation pop up for the first time today.
I was at a stop light just sitting there. Light turned green. Went to accelerate and no response. Looked down at gear indicator, saw the N, put my foot on the brake, flipped into D and off we went. Elapsed time was less than it took you...
What exactly happens when it “shifts to park”? Does the car jerk to a halt? Do you just lose some control? Is it brakes or accelerator? Are they just dead pedals?
how do you get going again? How quickly do you recover?
sorry for all the questions, but I’d like to prepared if/when it...
I can deal with PCM quirks and bugs, but this shit is unacceptable.
No way do I let anyone else drive this car until I understand what is going on and how to handle it if/when it occurs.
At this point, the value of a 2013 Model S is pretty low, we got a few discounts because of his grades and that he went through driving school. So, it's not too bad.
What's REALLY boosting my insurance bill is the Taycan. I'm about $1800/yr just for this new vehicle
Hope you'll share some pictures once you get the keys, and good luck on the delivery.
I don't know how true this is, but the SA told me he had 2 offers on my car while it was in the show room...for about 24 hours. After the $10k ADM, taxes and registration not sure how much real profit...
Thank you. 100% agree, it just a relearning process in most cases. Once I get some real time behind the wheel of the Taycan, I’ll be able to make a better comparison, but in the 60 miles I *have* driven in the car, I can already feel the upgrade to my circa 2013 tech Tesla.
As rcsting mentioned, it’s additional markup over MSRP. When I placed the order initially, it hadn’t dawned on me to shop other dealerships around the country. There are, apparently, some/many? that are not doing the extra pricing. If you’re considering one and your local dealer is asking for a...
thank you
yes, I knew about the ADM when I put down the deposit in November. They also had me sign an agreement that I would not sell the car overseas for a period of one year. That was a surprise. Probably not legally enforceable, but the real risk would be in getting blackballed by the brand...
ah, yeah. The power off/on button. I’m so used to park/walk away in the Tesla that this is something I’m going to need to relearn.
We stopped at Firehouse to get some sammiches. I wanted to try the precool feature on the mobile app. Went to turn on the AC and I received a message that said...
Got the keys to my Taycan, today! I’ll try to answer as many of the questions I know you all tend to ask.
timeline: Allocation in early November. Config locked in early December. About a month layover in Emden, and 2 weeks in San Diego port. 1 day at the dealer. It was definitely a Goldilocks...
