Updating the Connect control unit is good. This is the part that causes the issue where the car just randomly goes offline for a few hours to a few days.
It's pure software and not impossible to fix, it's weird they still haven't done it. Perhaps they limit things on purpose because it would never be guidance as fully featured as the built-in navigation.
They might still fix it later. Volkswagen's new infotainment they use in the ID.3/ID.4 etc...
The PCM operating system is Automotive Grade Linux. They actually do use Docker to containerize a lot of the applications, for example Spotify and the Calendar integration etc.
Also, the entire MIB3 base software is shared with the entire VW group and co-developed by Audi. The navigation, audio...
On EA charging
EA in Oregon and along I-5 close to Oregon in WA/CA is surprisingly bad. When I still had mine and lived in Seattle I did the Seattle to SF/LA a few times (in both an e-tron and a Taycan). That stretch on I-5 was always the part that needs most planning.
I never had issues at the...
The price should be lower if you have the premium package, which in the US is basically a requirement on any Taycan spec. That takes about $1000 off the price of Remote ParkAssist.
Then on top of that if you're interested in it, in the US, I'd say just get the technology package. I had both in...
You're ideally going to want to look for a company that has experience with VW group MIB3 infotainment systems (any Audi from the last 2 years for example). The standard speakers are connected either to the amp (Bose/Burmester) for the big speakers or to the main infotainment unit for the...
This is somewhat of a known issue, and more obvious on RWD cars. RWD cars stay in first gear in normal mode until the switch point, while AWD cars will start in second gear in normal mode.
Some people have gotten their motor assemblies replaced (which includes the transmission) but it tends to...
I had an e-tron Sportback Prestige (the big battery one since it was in the US), before it was lemoned and I ordered a base Taycan.
They're extremely different cars in driving feel, very different in target audience, and surprisingly similar in technology. The e-tron is on the MLB Evo.2...
In any case, if anyone is interested, there are some missing options in the dealer description (no tech package, for example). The monroney listed in the starting post in this thread is accurate.
Ahaha I can't say it hasn't crossed my mind, but since I live in Stockholm now and really don't need a car there's no point. I actually quite like the ID.3 carshare cars that are all over the city here. Completely different from a Taycan but fun in their own way (= without the $490 speeding...
The price is now down to $89.990, which is in my opinion a fantastic deal for a very well-equipped RWD car. With CPO even! I'm surprised they're dropping in price this fast, but as @whitex said this is probably a larger trend...
The cells could absolutely be LG, but the battery system /pack setup and design is Dräxlmaier.
https://www.draexlmaier.com/en/news/detail/award-for-cooperation-with-porsche and plenty of other sources
I strongly suspect it uses the exact same battery pack or at least the same configuration / cell types as the Taycan (since Porsche just gets them from Dräxlmaier). I think it's a small variation in communication / minor specs / margins but otherwise the same configuration.
Maserati: 92,5kWh /...
My car is now for sale at Porsche Bellevue, with a freshly repaired front bumper and 2 years of CPO warranty on top of the base warranty (so if you buy before April you get a total of one year more warranty than you would if you would buy a brand new one)...
@snstevens I'm on an L1 visa, which can't be transferred. I also have no degree (I'm one of those college dropouts who somehow made their way into a big tech job), which means I don't qualify for any other work visa really. There's no reasonable way for me to stay in the US. Thanks for your...
If anyone in the wider Seattle area wants my TeslaTap Mini (60A) and/or Lectron household outlet EVSE, give me a shout. For Taycan forum members I'll give them away for free. Can be picked up downtown Seattle or delivered in the wider Seattle area until Sunday!
Update: TeslaTap gone!
