  1. Best Taycan entry point? Need your advice.

RWD is a sweet canyon carver, with the PB+ option. But really annoyingly cock-blocked off the line. Given weight and power it should be faster than it is. still, never felt I am lacking power…coming from a Tesla Model 3 DMP. i can only recommend the RWD. It’s the 912 of Taycans.
  2. using tesla supercharging stations

I think someone at Tesla decided to make a lot of money in light of sales not being what they should lately - that’s why so many are open now in Germany and Switzerland. it’s pretty easy to use the app for it. i wonder if Carplay automatically knows which Tesla SUCs are open to 3rd party brands 🤔
  3. using tesla supercharging stations

Like most others here, I’ll echo that 30-230miles on a V2 Supercharger will take you whatever any regular old 150kw charger can give you. I haven’t tried the higher rate V3s yet. To keep in mind; the Tesla SUCs are grouped. So if you connect to one already in use (2a 2b 2c etc), your charging...
  4. Apple Maps via Carplay Now Supports EV Charging for Taycan

Apple Maps users have totally hijacked the “report hazard” to indicated police controls and speed traps. I had to laugh out loud the first time I tapped “hazard still present”.
  5. Questions from a Tesla Owner

totally agree. I see no rhyme or reason to the fluctuations in my Teslas ranges. AC on/off…weather…sometimes the old Models S 85 will go 320 kilometers with the kids in the car and the AC on, other times I am alone, same outside temperature, same speeds but I barely make it 250km. Same...
  6. Questions from a Tesla Owner

Woaw. What happened to respectful discourse 😉 look, i agree with you that the Tesla UX and quality of their software has gone down. The current AC UI you mention annoy me to no end. Also, why do I get a Gig of Navigation updates EVERY other day, it’s nuts! They’re not rebuilding the Autobahn...
  7. Questions from a Tesla Owner

sorry, what i forgot - you know how in our Tessis, ALL your assistance configuration is mapped to the fob (autopilot settings, etc), plus media settings? The Porsche won’t. But then again it also has very little. what annoys me is that it feels lazy! some of this sh*t they just had to copy...
  8. Questions from a Tesla Owner

you can toggle regenerative braking, sport sound, display setup. i opted out of the chrono package because I refuse to have an egg-timer center view of that lickalicious dashboard, but that gives you the revolver knob on the steering to choose modes, which pre-set some of those. in my case I...
  9. Questions from a Tesla Owner

I have a Model 3 Dual Motor Performance, a Model S85 RWD and a 2021 Taycan RWD PB+ I have 6 kids and a dog and use all these more or less daily. The answer is really simple. Of the 3 (even the old Model S), the Taycan is by far the worst EV and worst bang for the buck. The Model 3 drives...
  10. 271 miles! 100% charged. What’s your range shown?

More often than he gets 5 billion kilometers I’m sure 😄
  11. 271 miles! 100% charged. What’s your range shown?

That's about 318 miles at full charge in the RWD PB+ at 25C
  12. Taycan Base vs. Turbo S - my review

I think so. I own a 1967 Porsche 912. With the 4 cylinder from the 356 it’s less powerful but much lighter than the contemporary 911. The base Taycan is the same kind of deal for me. You trade power for agility. I opted for the pb+ mainly for range. But if I’d taken it as a track toy…the base...
  13. Taycan Base vs. Turbo S - my review

Great write-up. The only thing I’d add is: range. the base with pb+ gets a good 50-100km more range for me on the highway (120-140km/h cruise).
  14. New functionality wish list?

really? auto-lock on walk-away WILL be a thing? When?
  15. New functionality wish list?

    1. Shamelessly copy Tesla’s “Dog Mode” 2. Shamelessly copy Tesla’s “Sentry” feature 3. Give me an app where I can VERY simply set the “max charge level” and hit “charge” 4. Let me pre-filter charging networks in the navigation app, so I get to decide where I charge instead of that...
  16. Is a base Taycan any fun at the track? -> Video, pics, data from Laguna Seca

Sweet man! Reminds me of my SkipBarber days a lifetime ago. Beating Dodge Vipers and Formula Dodges around this track. Laguna Seca is by far my favourite racetrack. The Nürburgring takes more balls and skills, but nothing beats the rush of coming up to the blind turn-in of the corkscrew and...
  17. Cross shopping w Lucid

Oh, AND the charging sucks balls. The Tesla supercharging network is lightyears ahead of everybody else. In Europe Ionity sucks, but more specifically the charge port and car identification is abysmal. Every charging stop is a nail biter...will it work. AND DESPITE ALL THAT...Baymax rules 😂
  18. Cross shopping w Lucid

Got a Model S 85 RWD, a Model3 DMP and now got myself a Taycan RWD PB+. I think it's kinda all been said here. The Taycan is a joy to ride. You can get it in 80% as fast as the plaid for twice the price. What you get it is terrific exterior and interior design and built quality. I mean, I LOVE...
  19. Using iPhone as a key?

the Tesla phone key is really par for the course now, as far as I am concerned. The Taycan system is archaic by comparison and the welcome handles don't really work. When you walk around the car that's opened, it oftentimes re-closes. Snagged my two year old's hands more than once. Sucks. And...
