It seems I’ve touched a nerve here but make no apology as I also have a fairly intimate knowledge of Chinese manufacturing since my business has been buying from China since 2006. Most of the emerging Chinese EV startups (of which there are many) that pose such a threat to western legacy...
“Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery”
Don’t forget it’s how the Japanese car makers started in their quest to dominate. I believe Toyota in particular have done reasonably well in the USA..
I appreciate your comment is somewhat sarcastic but don’t forget that all Apple products are...
I suppose I'm not really surprised that people seem to be so hung up on range, but now I've had my car for 18 months / 16k miles I mostly only look at efficiency. In fact pretty much the same as I did when I owned ICE cars, but now it's miles/kWh
I do 98% of my driving in 'Individual' setting...
I subscribe to his channel, and others such as bestinTesla, specifically to see what the Tesla fanboys are saying. Call me a masochist if you like but I’m interested in how fake news and conspiracy theories gain traction.
I regret that posting the vid here has earned the guy more clicks, and...
Thanks Jeremy. I was aware of the previous thread but thought this video was worth its own new thread as a) it’s a new video only posted today, and b) because it has new claims.
This guy declares himself to be ‘independent, factual, and unbiased’ but all he seems to do is to to knock all brands...
When the car’s charging, the high voltage batteries need to be prevented from overheating. To do this fans come into operation which draw air in through the vents at the front of the car (and possibly elsewhere) which, if they’re covered up, could restrict airflow and cause the batteries to...
Admittedly this thread goes back a couple of years now but I’ve got the outdoor cover and been very pleased with it.
However the OP is complaining about the cover not having charge point flaps. In the description of the covers it clearly states:
Please note: The car cover should not be used...
Alternatively get a Myenergi Zappi charger which does it all for you. Mine works flawlessly although you will still get an error message at times when there is no surplus coming from the solar, but it does initiate and start charging again when there’s excess.
Picking up mine this afternoon (after a week  ). Apparently PC Bristol didn't have the up to date software on their IT equipment so they blamed the update failures they had all last week on that.
I'll let you know!
I did have Zap Map Premium but chose not to renew as I never used it due to it being unreliable for route planning and even less reliable for charging information. Likewise Chargemap, ABRP, WattsUp &, Chargepoint, all of which also integrate with Car Play. If I’m going on a new route I first...
OK, so now another update
Still not got my car back. It’s now been six days and counting. The last call I had from the service dept said they’d tried again yesterday (Friday) and WNJ8 update still failed. They said they were going to have to raise a ticket with Porsche GB, despite having told...
I think we have the right tape but senior staff at PC Bristol had to wait for the next management meeting to decide who’s Amazon account to use to buy it.
OK, so a quick update to my situation.
Car (which is a March '21 4S) is still with PC Bristol so that's now three days since they first tried to install the WNJ8 (VR19.0.1.) update.
They called late this afternoon to say that they still can't let me have the car back as it 'continues to throw...
