Correct - 30 days not 28. If you have rejected the car in writing before the 30 days are up at least the consumer rights are on your side. Leave it after 30 days and you rely on the goodwill of the dealer/manufacturer.
Reject the car within 28 days (you picked it up in early July’24 and it is now July 29th). Put this in writing. Outwith 28 days and these guys will play you on the long game - ie you must allow us to repair etc.
Don’t lose hope - these guys are seeing how hard you push back when you get their stock answer.
You have to put them on notice that reasserts your consumer rights. The right to “enjoy” your product and is it “fit for purpose”. As this isn’t the case then what does your consumer rights cover -...
I was is exactly the same situation last year. UK based but originally from Ireland (Kerry) - I bought a new MY22 CT4 - waited over a year for the car.
My car ownership spanned 7 months with 4 of those 7 months residing in the dealership/specialist body shop.
I eventually lost faith in the car...
Had the same issue with my CT4 in early March’23 - water ingress into the rear door. You could hear the water sloshing from side to side when the rear boot lid opened/closed.
When my car was in the dealership resealing the boot lid Porsche found a second water ingress issue in the main...
Sorry for the delay in responding - I stayed off the forums until this issue got sorted.
Happy to report that it is all resolved. Got a full refund for the car but I had to eat the Gtechniq coating cost of £1k+. Overall happy to move on and not have this hanging over me. The dealership did pull...
Snap! I ordered mine in November’21 and same thing happened to me - car built in June’22 and in storage in Germany awaiting a 12v battery until November’22.
Finally got the car December’22 and drove it for 1,600 miles until March as I was abroad. The car has been back at Porsche since March...
Thanks for the advice. I purchased my car further North ?.
The supplying dealer and I have not discussed any remedy as yet - they just referring me to Porsche GB. Will see how this line of enquiry pans out - will give it until mid next week and then it is back on the dealer’s door.
Don’t want...
Thanks - I wrote to Porsche GB last Tuesday and itemised the history of the issues. Got a standard holding email back requesting 10 working days to respond via their Personal Case Manager. The email said that they are experiencing a high level of customer contact etc etc.
Will post the...
Thanks for the heads up. Researched the private individual v limited company bit. Looks like these are broadly similar with the exception being - an inserted clause in a business to business contract will supersede the normal rights a private individual gets……..,
“In general, when your business...
Thanks for the advice. I am speaking to the body shop tomorrow - hope to get a report on the car - will try and get the silver bullet “manufacturing defect”. The body shop have had it for nearly 3 months so they should know it well - like speaking about an old friend!
Thanks - that’s great information to have - will definitely be drafting an email/letter on this pointing out the chronology of this and the relevant act.
Won’t lawyer up at this stage. Plus “no” as an answer is not on the cards as well - the PC got that vibe already - just not in writing yet...
Thanks - not on finance - bought the car through my limited company - thought it was a good idea at the time with the corporation tax breaks etc ?
Will read through the Sale of Goods Act and Consumers RIghts Act ?? that stipulates my rights in this situation ie fit for purpose etc.
My...
Started the process today of rejecting my CT4 with my local Porsche Centre.
Received the car early December 22 after a 12 month wait.
As of today (June 9th) the car spent the last 2 1/2 months in a body repair shop. The issue is due to 2 separate rainwater ingress issues - 1 into the...
My Taycan CT has a weird sound when opening and closing. Turns out it is water ingress. Hope this isn’t the case with yours. Been at the dealer for 6 weeks and counting.
I did the same trip (from Fife) in late March with my Taycan CT. Recognise the IONITY Stations too! Gretna Green, Pc South Lakes, PC Silverstone. Also checked out Stafford Services which had lots of availability. If you are staying in Oxford a good option is Redbridge Park and Ride - loads of...
My Taycan CT4 has the dreaded water ingress issue - first noticed it a month ago when opening and closing the rear tailgate. You could hear water rushing from top to bottom and bottom to top when operating the tailgate.
Got it into Porsche and they investigated and resealed the tailgate/dried...
Will keep an eye out for you. You will be able to spot me as I will be the guy conserving his range on the track.
Would have benefited with an experience (refundable if I went ahead and purchased the car) as I was dithering on a CT4S, rear wheel steering etc.
In the end I wimped out and...
I am at Silverstone next Thursday for my Porsche Experience (bought a CT 4 in December ‘22). Looking forward to driving a Taycan at speed for a change - been driving in range mode for 75%!of the time due to the cold weather range in Scotland,
