You could try the epoxy fill. I would mix the epoxy with some fibers before filling the hole to make it less likely to fracture. If that doesn't work, you can always install a Helicoil.

I had the same thing happen to me a few days ago. I had to use the "two finger reboot" of the PCM to get it started again. I called my service manager and was told that the backup camera uses a separate computer from the rest of the PCM. He told me to let him know if I have the problem again.
