Hi everyone,
Any recommendations for an auto shop that knows how to service Taycans? Porsche dealerships are overpriced so looking for other options. We are due for 40k mile servicing.
If the functionality only works for model year 2021, then our existing Taycan's won't work unless we get some update from Porsche. Since the EA charging station doesn't know which car is plugged in, what @Reg experienced is probably just the charging station trying to test if the car is...
Not difficult to find places to hide the cable, but a pain in the rear in terms of needing to pull hard enough to stuff the cables between tightly clipped together pieces of trim. For example, I thought about hiding the cable under the floormat instead of between the plastic doorsill and the...
Update on my dashcam install.
Picked up a 2 channel dashcam (one for the front and one for rear window) + a battery to avoid adding more risk to the V12 battery drain.
I placed the dashcam behind the rear view mirror so I won't really see it when driving. I snaked the power cable and the...
My car also have the power folding mirrors, but the curtesy light is from the door itself. There may be a 2nd light from the mirror, but it is not lit up when just opening the door when parked.
We have been initiating the charging session at the EA stations through the Porsche Connect app.
It's not that user friendly but has worked every time at the couple stations close to us. We had to find the station within the Porsche Connect app's "Explore" functionality (the my location button...
My Taycan is Carrara White with the Bordeaux leather seats. We went with the standard black seatbelts exactly because we felt the additional red would make it too much red. We like how it turned out and saved some money
I haven't installed a dashcam in my Taycan, yet. I did wire a dashcam in my other car (SUV).
For @Reg question 1, the battery connects to the front camera and the front camera has a separate port to connect a single wire for both power and data to the back camera.
For question 2, I hid the...
Is it just a short beep or more like an annoying alarm type beeping?
When I lock my car, I just get the short "beep beep". I've always just thought its the way Taycan lets me know it is locking the car. Other cars do something similar, so I'm hoping you are referring to some annoying type of...
We had success with just using the Porsche Connect app to find the charging station and initiating charging from it.
Guess I was lucky last weekend. I initiated the charge through the Porsche Connect app at the Issaquah Target EA charger. No issues.
I also use the power button. I think of it as with other push button to start engine in regular petrol cars. So pretty used to pushing the button to "turn off engine".
I'm more concerned about the US license plate blocking front parking sensors and stuff versus the aesthetics of the front plate. So, if the normal location is fine, then I'm happy to go with the less costly option.
Update: added side view picture.
I reached out to the company and they sent me this picture of their tow hook license plate on a Taycan. I asked for a side view picture as a follow up. If they reply, I'll update.
