It is a good deal. My 2020 4S was highly spec'd as well (about $143k). It had about 18k miles. I sold it to the local Mercedes dealer last month. They had it listed for resale at $109k and it sold for asking price in 2 weeks. Fyi, I had no issues with my 2020 4S and it was the 1st US delivery on...
I leased my 2020 Taycan 4S mainly because I was nervous that it was Porsche's first EV and I wasn't certain about the progression of battery technology 5 years down the road. Last month received an offer from my local Mercedes dealer to purchase the car. I received about $25k above the lease...
@Archimedes - Six months after I got my Taycan in 2020, I sold my Aston DB11 V12 back to the dealer. They kept the tax credit on the books for 1 year. For my recent purchase, the Mercedes dealer confirmed in writing the January allocation for my new car. The supply chain issues are easing up. In...
@laua - I have done business with both Porsche Danbury and Porsche Fairfield (both in CT) without any of the nonsense you mentioned. I had the first US Taycan 4S on this forum and even back then when allocations were super scarce, I didn't pay any deposit until my order was confirmed with a...
The used car market the past 24 months was crazy. My 2020 Taycan 4S was leased. I would have never thought that I could make $25k above the lease buy out price for a mass produced car that was 32 months old.
Yes, you are correct about the allocation. I negotiated and locked in my purchase first (I have a January build date) before I discussed trading in my Taycan.
The price the Mercedes dealer offered for the Taycan was significantly higher than what CarMax offered for the car. With the tax savings on the new car, it was a no brainer to trade in the Taycan to the Mercedes dealer, and I probably got more than what a private buyer would have paid without...
@800v I recently traded in my 2020 Taycan when I ordered a new 2023 AMG SL55. If your goal is to maximize the tax savings on the new car, you should trade in your current Taycan now. The dealer will buy the car now and apply the trade in value against the incoming car. It prevents the risk of...
Best of luck with your incoming Taycan. Although mine was an early build, it was trouble free. The recent big software update was much appreciated especially with the addition of Android Auto. My Taycan never stranded me at any Electrify America stations. It was an easy car to road-trip having...
The lease on my 2020 Taycan 4S was scheduled to end in June 2023. I leased the car (vs. buying it) because I ordered it sight unseen since there were no Taycans produced at the time (I had the first US 4S Taycan on this forum), and as Porsche's first EV, I didn't want to take the risk of it...
After the big uPdate, my 2020 has WIRELESS Android Auto. I’ve had no issues with the Taycan other than the laggy PCM/data connection which was addressed with the uPdate. I have the PSCB - awesome with the huge 2020 calipers.
I had the alignment done when I brought the car in for the uPdate. It cost US$500. I was a bit surprised and questioned the amount. I was told the cameras were recalibrated which was a large part of the cost.
I noticed that post uPdate, the locations were still in the memory but did not trigger as quickly as before. I decided to delete all of the locations, and I saved the driveway location for my house further away. It now lifts just before my driveway. FYI, homelink triggers perfectly which is...
Thanks to this forum, when I got my Taycan back from the dealership after latest round of recalls and updates, I noticed the silly sticker that was placed on my PMCC. As soon as I got home, I disabled the wifi and the automatic updates on the PMCC. Fortunately the dealership installed the...
I've had mixed results with the 3rd party devices. The most recent was the Android MMB carplay box. It uses the Taycan's carplay function to connect and display video and Google Playstore apps on the center PCM screen. The old models use Android 7. The newer boxes use Android 10 or 11. When it...
I have owned three Aston Martins. Two Vantage V8s, and most recently the DB-11 V12. Astons are awesome cars, but totally different than the ten Porsches that I have owned over the years. My Porsches are rock solid, German engineered cars. Astons are like custom Saville Row suits. Other than the...
