I don’t know what all the fuss is about — that should buff right out.
Also looking forward to the inevitable “#4 sign” memes, the luckiest little fella in the whole sequence.
My delivery was… fine? The car was covered and the reveal was nice. We received a soft-bound coffee table book (more of a magazine, really). A pen, two “okay” keychains… embossed with the dealer address. No flowers, no wine or champagne, no cool models or anything like that.
But then our SA...
I’ve been resisting writing this, maybe because I keep on waiting for the other shoe to drop. But after seven months of ownership and about 7,000 miles on the odometer, I think I really “know” the car now. It’s a 2023 4S CT, Mamba Green, well-optioned.
LIKES
Overall. The car is extraordinary...
Noticed that on the US site, they’re no longer showing range information. This could be seen as evidence the 2024s will see at least some improvements.
(Edit: Just realized the exact same 4S CT build that I look delivery of two weeks ago, minus the Mamba but substituting a different premium...
I certainly don’t feel as strongly about these things as the OP, although I agree that Sport Chrono isn’t terribly useful. However, one thing that did take me by surprise and actually does bum me out is the steering mode selector dial. It’s plastic and feels SO cheap! How is this not a heavy...
Last year, I had a dealer offer me a 4S CT allocation for a $15,000 ADM. At the time I made my order, that was exactly the same ADM offered me by three other LA dealers (and Beverly Hills was $15,000-20,000). However, this dealer also stipulated that I provide a $10,000 non-refundable deposit...
I’ll chime in with another data point, FWIW.
4S CT, Production completed Jan 11. Currently on the Volans Leader about a week out from San Diego. Tues received a text from my SA (stand-up guy) saying he had received a list of Taycans affected by the heater issue and my car was not on the list...
Mamba 4S CT, currently about halfway across the Atlantic on the Volans Leader and scheduled to pull into the port of San Diego in just a few weeks. A week after that I expect to pick it up at our LA-based dealer; it’s been widely commented on that the last month of waiting is excruciating and...
I'm going to put myself out there by admitting to a colossally stupid ordering mistake, that I have no one to blame but myself. When I was specing my 4s CT, I added Sport Chrono. When it it came time to add the heated steering wheel, the configuration tool warned me that to do so I would have to...
It certainly appears the two things are linked. The dealer probably realized they would see no profit on the financing and adjusted your trade accordingly. Not a great customer experience, for sure.
You might want to discuss with the lender who offered you better financing. Maybe there is a...
Sorry for being a bit off-topic here but I was tremendously excited to see that your CT4s will have its electric steering column. Mine goes into Production on January 6 and I’ve been told that my steering column (and those on all US 4s’) will still require manual adjustment due to ongoing chip...
Yeah, it’s nuts. And to be clear, I’m resigned to a sizable ADM. The bigger problem, as you rightfully point out, is a 4S + CT allocation. They’ve become unicorns. I don’t need the car quickly and will wait 12+ months for one — but I’m eager to accelerate it, if possible.
Hi folks — new to the forums and still just a wannabe. But after being a BMW family for 30 years I’ve finally decided to take the plunge and purchase a 4S CT… if we can ever get an allocation.
I live in LA and have begun working with a salesperson at one of the largest Porsche dealers in town...
