I think there's a design issue of Taycan's body because the 21 inch wheels throw many stones from the road on the rear doors. I cannot drive on unpaved roads because the paint on the rear doors will be badly damaged.
The radar is a very good safety feature .I rarely used ACC but it saved me from crashing into cars that break hard or at high speeds when there's traffic jam.
First of all I wish for next Taycan to have more equipment that is standard in less than half price EVs, plus:
- more luxurious interior with nicer trims, better materials instead of hard plastics unacceptable in 100k+ Porsche
- more sound insulation, its not a 911 after all
- doors which stay...
Which one you drove, the new Panamera or old? I have the 971.1 and indeed is not a very refined and efficient hybrid system, however the new Panamera has double the range and more power so that should deliver a true EV.
Give it a try first, I have the previous model 2018 Turbo S hybrid and while its been faultless and its good for slow driving the EV mode and regen braking is not as refined as Taycan.
If you drive long distances often I don't see the point of the hybrid and if you drive short distances I...
The Taycan GT is a 2.3 tons track focused EV with a third motor and it may cost 50k over already very fast Turbo S. It's old tech so it will depreciate like an iPhone.
To who they are trying to sell it? Racing enthusiast obviously are buying a GT3, many EV guys are scared of depreciation.
Who's gonna spend 250k on a Turbo GT for half a second faster acceleration, less range and massive depreciation? Even though facelift seems new its still a first-gen Taycan with 2 speed gearbox, slow PCM and small interior space.
The Active Ride could make the Taycan as comfortable as an S class. According to roadandcar test the new suspension is noticeable more comfortable.
"We had a chance to sample a new Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid prototype with the “semi-active” PDCC system and one with Active Ride near Porsche’s...
Taycan windshield is pretty soft, I got a small stone that left a mark, luckily not on my side.
But more annoying is that I get the rear doors stone chips when going over debris. Its the first car with this issue, Panamera is not affected, maybe its body design issue or the 21 inch wheels.
But how much this high speed charging will degrade the battery over time ? We need to see a graph because at some point some of us will own the Taycan for many years.
I have my Macbook for 6 years, iphone 3 and probably my next EV I will keep until next gen is out.
What if our old battery dies needs replacement, Porsche should install the improved battery, so I'll keep mine until the battery is dead or I need longer range EV.
5 sec to 60 is slower than much cheaper BMW i4, really wonder why Porsche decided to detune the RWD motor so much. I guess more power would make it more fun and probably lower 4S sales.
After first winter with Taycan Turbo I would trade the power for more range but has to be fun.
It is bolt on but the Burmester subwoofer has a separate amp while the Bose subwoofer has the amp integrated in the main amp, that means you'll be sending amplified signal to the Burmester subwoofer amp, no idea if that works. Also you need a power for the amp. Its doable but I'd replace the...
More power or more range, chose a side. Instant power is addicting but now in winter I'm scared to take my Turbo to a ski trip. Next time I get the one with more range.
I'd take the one with most options.
