I agree with the comments about leveraging plug and charge if you have it. Some of the EA stations near me have very limited cellular connectivity. If you are using the app, you may run into basic Internet issues that hold up the charging. So silly that they put the stations where internet is so...
I drove my Taycan a lot on very snowy / icy roads and optioned torque vectoring to give me an extra edge in those conditions. Hard to know what the car would have been like without torque vectoring, but the car was very good even in very sketchy winter conditions.
It all comes down to the infrastructure. In my state they did a public/private partnership and installed about two dozen key charging locations. Once that was done, it really filled in the map and made owning an EV infinitely more practical. That said, I did have a charger at home.
Thanks for the post. I too am going from a 2020 4S to a 2025 Turbo so your post was very interesting / helpful. In my case I sold my 2020 a while ago so I am just looking for a replacement. Excited about the additional range among other things.
Not quite your case, but I have been considering a used Taycan or a 2025. I decided to go for a 2025 because of the range bump. One of the regular trips I make is at the edge of the range of the Taycan. Having some extra range will make all the difference for me. If I didn't make that trip...
6' 3" and had 18 way seats. I found the lumbar support to be too low and as a result didn't find the seats to be particularly comfortable. I am going to check out the 14 way seats next go although I have no idea if they are any better for me.
Anecdotally it does seem like some Taycan buyers sold the car because the public charging network in their area was thinner than they thought. I took my Taycan on a lot of road trips and experienced the good and the bad of the US charging network. Varies so much state by state and even city by...
Does anyone have experience running Mission E wheels during the summer and 20" wheels during the winter? I have seen some comments elsewhere on this forum that there are potential issues with the larger brakes that come with Mission E's when you move down to 20" wheels.
I had a 2020 and am looking at getting a 2021 or newer because I want the plug-and-charge. I ran into issues at Electrify America stations where cell service was super spotty, thereby causing the app to not reliably work which in turn prevented me from charging.
Thanks for letting me know. I drive that road all the time. I am currently between Taycans although as you say that seems like it would be an issue regardless of the car.
BTW, I agree that USAA is a quality insurance company. They have helped me with some bizarre situations over the years. In...
I will have to check that out. I had a standard license plate holder drilled into the front bumper as shown in the profile pic. If it impacted range, I didn't notice it as I often was getting ~300 miles in the summer.
In Colorado the cops often will stop you at the airport and get into your...
I had a new 4S, but I am mostly likely going for a used Turbo this next time around. Given the depreciation on Taycans, it is hard to justify going new. Plus some of the used Turbos are low mileage and come with the CPO warranty.
I bought my Taycan without RAS because I like a heavier steering feel. (I still love the feeling of those 40+ year old 911's which had super heavy steering .) That said, I regretted not getting RAS and will absolutely get it on my next Taycan. The Taycan is a long car, and if you park a lot in...
