@PSUEric got lucky. I made almost the exact same trip March 16 & 17 stopping at 4 of his 5 DC charging locations on North route. Just getting the tower to talk to the car required calls to EA twice. Plug and charge wouldn't work at all but the Porsche app finally worked by the time we hit...
Porsche has a lot of work to do with the whole software aspect of using a Taycan. I have a possible explanation of what was going on during your drive. I have PIRM and PID. Several times I have been headed home and knew I would make it with 20+/- miles to spare. My min on arrival is set to 20%...
Success rate is all over the place. Almost 3.5 years using Tesla superchargers might have set my expectations a little too high for EA. In the year and a half with the Taycan I'd say P&C works 60/70% of the time (ignoring instances of the station being broken or charging at half the expected...
I just got back from a 2,200 mile round trip. Between the mountains and speed around 75 mph I averaged 2.9 miles per kWh. A full charge range of around 230 miles (my battery is down to roughly 80kWh usable). Never charged above 85% but sure considered it. Leaving a cushion of 10% on the bottom...
I have the TeslaTap 60. Works flawlessly with both a gen 2 and a gen 3 Tesla wall connector. Never a problem on the road at a Tesla destination charger. It seems very well made and shows no signs of wear after a year and a half of constant use. Can't comment versus the Lectron but I do not think...
TLDR: how you drive and the conditions you drive in will determine what you see for range.
So what is my range? Safe to say "it depends". I left Florida 3 weeks ago with a calculated range of 276 miles at 100%, just over 10,000 miles (real world 250-260 miles). Flat terrain, low 60's F...
Quite an impressive list of work checking to be done. I don't think I missed it but there does not seem to be a labor code for flushing the brake fluid which, along with replacing the cabin air filter, is the only real work done to the car. So is the brake flush an additional charge? I would...
@Pbear16 - No clue if you are close enough to use Porsche of Ocala. $770 for the 2 year service. Even that is a little high for the actual work done. $2,500 is flat out abusive and, frankly, insulting to the customer.
You may have lost the LTE signal at the car. The app always says "just updated" despite showing out of date stats, while my car sits in the garage with no signal. The app just displays whatever it stored from the last time it was connected to the car.
I could have been clearer. The ALK symbol goes grey when switching lanes and goes active again when centered in the new lane, so yes, accelerating into the gap is with ACC not ALK.
Nope. My car is keeping yours company (lottery co-winners?). ALK works very well (have PID, and LKA is always off). It's roughly equal to Tesla's basic autopilot. Stays centered in the lane, handles curves well, responds to the distance to the car in front well. The only glitch is when changing...
I'm not sure you can lock the car and have it go to sleep with the hood open. With this car I'm not sure there is consistent behavior from car to car, but ... I left the car plugged in at 50% and went away for 5 weeks. There is no cell reception in my garage so checking in and waking the car up...
No visible lines is a problem. I certainly agree that losing the lane lines and not having a more obvious warning is not right. I had a Tesla previously (basic autopilot) that would get confused when the lines disappeared. That has conditioned me to always watch the lane lines. Haven't had the...
I have PID active and LKA switched off. I found LKA to be very annoying. Not sure how much centering/steering control is active in LKA. It is labeled "assist" and I don't think it was designed for "hands off" driving like ALK is. LKA isn't steering for you, it's just a nudge when you wander too...
I'm not sure it is actually official/published anywhere but if you go back to the start of this (long) thread you will find multiple references to 86.7 kWh being the real net capacity. As in your case the numbers work if that is the actual net capacity and they don't at 83.7 kWh.
You haven't let the system go long enough with your hands off the wheel. Initially it makes no warning other than the symbol going gray, but ALK and/or PID are still active and keep the car centered. After 30 seconds (guessing, never timed it) all hell breaks lose and the seat belt pretty...
Despite Porsche stating a net battery capacity of 83.7 kWh it seems the true usable capacity is 86.7 kWh. At a SoH of 88.39% it works out to exactly the 76.6% battery energy shown on Car Scanner.
Just finished an 1,100 mile road trip. EA sessions required multiple unplug and plug back in attempts to establish a connection at each of 3 EA locations. P&C failed every time. Since my last trip my anniversary rolled by. Subscription shows "free" charging as active for another two years. P&C...
It's a real thing and Tesla is actually making progress on it.
