So.....aparently....on completion of cell work, and for re-assembly, the top plate is held by six techs and lowered into place. This has to be done inside a set number of minutes after the seal is prepared. Each of the plate bolt tops are covered in the sealant.....apparently plenty of sealant...
Tiger.....I believe you are correct.
Not real surprising that a field re-seal (by a PCNA tech) would not look as slick as the factory job.....probably done robotically.
Yep, yep.....dealership here has always been very good about that. I'm fortunate.
But, the wife needs the Taycan and driving something else is not in the cards.
So, for now, I've not taken them up on a loaner....and I'm doing chauffer duty.
Update on my issue.....detyermined that 4 cells need to be replaced.
Necessary parts are being ordered. Porsche tech needs to fly in and be present
It will be scheduled......but the wife's Taycan car will be down for some time.
If this is for me....appreciate the input however.....the Porsche charger has been into the dealer a couple of time for check/update.....and, on the second idea, I do not have the car. It's in the Service bay at the dealership.
I'm sure there is a list of various things that can precipitate a dead car that must be parked "in a safe place" however in my case there is no issue w/the 12V battery and we are able to see there is a cell imbalance in the main battery.
Coming up on a week waiting for direction of our next move...
Just following up on my situation for the record.....and, if it's of help to anyone else should it occur.
12v battery is not the issue.....cell imbalance and apparently PCNA has authorized the case be escalated to Germany.
We'll see what next week brings.
Over weekend I also have the Electrical System Error, Park Vehicle in Safe Place.
She's dead other than that display.
Dealership may be initiating 'Roadside Assist.
Correction....dealership suggested I try a jump of the 12V and if no success that I call Roadside Assist. I've done both.
It...
I guess I'd differ w/some that scuffed rims are not necessarily normal for a daily driver.
Been driving daily Pcars for 30 years, most with expensive custom wheels.
Friends, we have a car here that has quite possibly the widest track of most any 'car' on the planet today.....and then some of...
For what it's worth....I just blacked out the markers completely as I've done on some Benz cars.
The LED strip inside the housing still burns a yellow or whatever. So, for my opinin, no good.
Not a fan of side markers but on other Pcars I was able to replace the bulbs inside clear housings so...
Possibly a slightly different answer here.
I would have bought the Mission E if were powered by hamsters. Best looking 4-door sedan ever conceived.
I followed the evolution and design of the car for over 4 years and the incredible work of Borkert, Burki, and Korner....had deposit down 2 yrs...
Yep...thanks, I did catch that but guess I wrote off "subframe realignment" as not your normal camber setting process.
I can not imagine having to do that on my other Pcars or the track car.
But yes.....I understand. Porsche engineers apparently made a very different decision on the Taycan...
I think I've read 'most' of this long thread and will add.....
9,000 miles and significant inside tire (front) wear. Service advisor at dealership indicates there is 'no' camber adjust possible on a Taycan (4S in this case)......only toe.
Really hard to comprehend.
OK I see it...... the three dots to the right of FM, XM, AppleMusic.......that gives you the Source list......and then select 'Favorites'.....then find what you were looking for.
Must make sense to a German, I guess.
Thanks!
