While the new Mission E’s in the configurator don’t look exactly like these, I like the Gen 1 (less efficient) Mission E wheel more… along with the tear drop vents.
As someone else mentioned, FOD for increased launch control would be fun for Gen 1 owners; although, not sure how it’d be enabled...
In the case of the Taycan, I think Porsche is smart to get these prototypes into the hands of the media before the official release of the car... and ahead of the official EPA rating.
Porsche officially revealed the .1 Taycan and headlines were quick to highlight the terrible range rating...
I searched the forum and didn’t see any mention of the auxiliary pump (aka coolant pump) being serviced / replaced on any of your Taycans, so thought I’d post here.
Brought my car in for recall service - battery and PCM. Service advisor said after the recalls were complete, the car was throwing...
I've also gotten comfortable with the PCM. I'd be most interested in custom options for the lower screen below the air conditioning and seat heater controls. The space for gesture control on the lower screen is absolutely useless to me.
You do you. Well done! I’ve been intrigued by the hood decal of the 911 Sport Classic and how a variation on that theme might look on the Taycan. Perhaps someday…
Great info... thanks for sharing. I'm officially in the VIN range and will need to get this checked out (but not in a rush at the moment). I've heard Porsche (re)assembly is quite good. With this kind of test, I hope I don't have to worry about future creaks/rattles. I've really enjoyed the...
Definitely unfortunate! When I first got the car, I really wanted to keep it in the lowest setting... and thought, if I don't scrape anything, I'll even get new links to lower it a bit more. That changed quickly when I turned into my favorite coffee shop's driveway and scraped the underside of...
Well the day finally came... I was running around town so much that I didn't have enough time to go home and charge my car before the next errand. I started the day as usual at 80% (205mi). My last errand required 30mi and I was at 10%. While I successfully navigated the situation, I definitely...
Thanks to researching this forum, upon delivery, I immediately got the car PPF'd including the gloss black interior sections and screens. It looks great, reduces fingerprints / scratches and cleans easily.
Exactly this. Reversing out in the morning, I click the little house icon on the far right of the screen while still in camera mode.
Coming home at night, the "Homelink" button option appears in the bottom left over top of anything on the screen.
For many of the reasons already stated... I went with both. As luck would have it, major road construction started on my daily commute. I would have had much higher anxiety without PPF. And the ceramic coating has made my regular hand washing the car much more enjoyable - e.g., easier to clean...
Not entirely following the timeline of enhanced sealant vs bad sealant in comparison to the VIN ranges provided. My car was built in March 2023 before the enhanced sealant was introduced in May 2023, yet it seems my VIN is not in the range... or maybe it's an ID10T error on my part. Either way...
I'm all for OTA updates... but as a software engineer, I've had a few good laughs at the experience so far. I've gotten several dings and info messages that say I have notifications... yet seemingly no notifications. I've gotten several map updates that made me feel the PCM became unstable...
I thought it was just me... I roll down my driver window daily to swipe my garage parking badge (have no interest in putting a transponder on my windshield). While I finally figured out the two-click pull-up-lever method to make the window roll up faster, I felt like maybe I was messing it up...
Nice thread and great to learn how others take care of their car. +1 to Obsessed Garage. For me... pressure washer, two-bucket wash method with microfiber mitts and brushes, leaf blower, and microfiber towels for drying small spaces and interior cleaning. I'm currently using Koch Chemie GSF soap...
I really like the white painted wheels on a white car (Mission E concept look); otherwise, I think the silver looks good... including on my chalk car. While it's only been four months of daily driving, not a scratch or chip on my wheels yet.
My ChargePoint home charger is enrolled into the utility EV program... primarily limits full kW charging until after 7pm on occasion (e.g., really hot days). Otherwise, all of the charging parameters are coming from the car through a profile and timer. While I don't think much about it, I...
Can confirm... and have just gotten used to pressing the pedal deeper when coming to a stop.
On my daily commute, there's a residential road with a stop sign at the bottom of a steep decline... I'm getting used to the pedal travel, feeling the transition from engine braking to (PSCB) caliper...
Really enjoying my (first EV & Porsche) Taycan... but did have to get used to the brakes initially. The pedal can feel soft for me as well (not overly so).
It's most pronounced in situations where I'm coming to a stop at a steep decline. It's as if I can feel the transition from the brake pedal...
I used Car Play / Apple Maps on my iPhone in a different (ICE) car, forgetting to disable riding in an EV. The next time in the Taycan, I received the battery percentage error while using Car Play / Apple Maps. Since then, I’ve just disabled the feature. It’s most compelling, if I’m on a road...
