I think this is a good thread on Taycan someone shared and it also talks about its reliability, depreciation etc.
Potential Taycan fleetwide battery replacement in 2025 | TaycanForum -- Porsche Taycan Owners, News, Discussions, Forums
It comes down to priorities. Taycan to me is the best-looking car and I love how it drives having driven it multiple times but I do not want to buy an expensive car and dread if it runs fine or stalls somewhere and costs me a fortune to get it fixed. I will stick with ICE for now till there are...
These experiences convince me more and more to stay away from Taycan. There is a reason why German car manufacturers are feeling the pressure from Chinese. Another few years and automotive world will look very different. Even Toyota is losing its market share thanks to Chinese car companies. New...
Actually, I have not checked the forums. US News and other such publications rate it pretty high and since its been on the road for a while, I am thinking it be ok. Taycan repairs seem way to high so any ICE would be ok in comparison probably. :-)
I was looking for positive comments on reliability not performance etc. for MY25 but the comments and real-life experiences people are sharing here are validating for me to stay away from Taycan altogether. I don't want to spend $80-$100k on a car for its aesthetics only to fret each time I take...
I agree and I think this may well be the end of German and Japanese automobile domination. This is not transitory how Porsche and other German auto CEO's may like to spin it. Chinese cars are better overall and provide much better value for money. Tariff is just reactionary and will not do much...
I agree, I am looking to buy a Taycan but after reading about MY25, I plan to buy that one once it starts appearing more as CPO. The recalls and the horror stories about replacement costs for battery to panoramic roof etc. has made me sit on the side. I am hopeful, MY25 may have all the kinks...

Taycan sales down 50%. That's huge but Panamera sales cratered too. This may well be because Chinese manufactures are gaining ground and market share at the expense of Porsches and others as EV sales overall are growing albeit...
Completely agree. People typically like to post bad experiences to vent but not necessarily positive reviews when things are going well. Human nature I guess. :)
Completely agree and you all have first-hand experience while I am just a reader here planning to buy a Taycan in future but there have been a few polls here and overwhelmingly drivers have responded to buy it again.

I know I am off topic here but wanted to mention that I saw the MY25 Taycan in flesh at my local Porsche dealership the other day when I took my Cayenne for service. Opinions are divided about the front look of MY25 with the teardrop look gone something I dig as well but I found MY25 front look...
I assume you are either talking about China or Switzerland when you say, "Most people are losing their jobs and have no job security in 2024." because here in good ol' US of A, economy is doing really well, unemployment is lowest in decades, most people got good raises and stock market continues...
I see here mention of third or fourth windshield replacements. Why is that? Is Taycan windshield that brittle or you all live in areas with a lot of loose gravel or under-construction areas? I never had to replace windshields in either of my cars ever and I have been driving for over 30 years.
If I were you, I will definitely go with MY24 car. Its new and well covered under warranty. MY21 is too old IMO and those early year Taycan's had issues as well that you would at least expect were addressed by MY24. And you cannot beat that new car smell which is priceless. :)
We all can only speculate so I will add mine as well. I do not see MY25 depreciating any less or the existing used inventory depreciating any less either. MY25 will go farther on a charge and will charge faster but its more expensive as well. EV's in general still have fewer buyers and the...
Taycan, for that matter is still holding its value fairly well. Its the Turbos and highly optioned Taycans that we hear about losing 40-50% in couple years time which is not unusual as even ICE cars selling at the price point lose significantly. Taycan RWD still seem to hold its value well. I...
