I’d hope they would say that, because such clear criteria is much more trustworthy than some unknown, and likely still fallible even if known, machine learning algorithm. So Porsche wouldn’t be doing themselves any favors.
However, as Tooney pointed out, there are many more than 205 cars in...
Thanks, that's what I thought, but it's hard to be sure, since the VIN range could in theory be more specific than the calendar period (albeit very unlikely).
Even so, I guess it means I won't know for sure until the recall notices for all the actually affected VINs are out.
This is a bit...
I just entered some of the VINs directly mentioned into https://recall.porsche.com, and they also came up with no recall, so I guess that's just not published yet.
I am super nervous to see that my VIN is within one of the ranges. Again, does anybody know if that means they consider it...
My VIN is in one of the ranges. Does that mean my car is affected? I'm not 100% sure how to interpret the "Not Sequential" checkmark. Whether that means thats not all VINs in the range are affected, or whether it just means that no car exists for every possible VIN in the range.
In any case...
WPN8 is a PCM update, as noted elsewhere in the forum. It has nothing to do with oil filler caps, which an EV does not have.
Obviously, some wires got crossed here, and the wrong description got paired with the WPN8 campaign.
For me it's also that I don't really want to let my car dictate my life. As you've said before, if you buy it for resale, it was probably a bad idea anyway. It's my car and I want to use it as a car. I've rarely got a problem with anyone else driving it (my wife who is very careful anyway, some...
That is how I feel as well, especially the last sentence. Though I do buy used, simply because I had good experience with it (especially with Porsche Certified Pre-Owned, it was a wonderful experience with my Boxster, which never had a significant problem after 7 years), and I really like how...
How is that illogical? When you play through Car Play, you just hear what your phone plays. The car does neither know nor care if that comes from Apple Music on the phone, or any other app on your phone.
You're not entering your credentials into the car's system. You just scan a QR code, and this will generate an authentication token that is easy to revoke and authorize your car for Apple Music (and hopefully Apple Music only). At no point does the car see your password.
So, I’ve definitely seen it going to “Lowered” (or whatever the one with the one notch down icon on the dashboard is), in “Normal” driving mode, in my turbo at freeway speeds. I checked this again.
I doubt it’s not checked into version control, that would be crazy. Usually, SNAPSHOT means it is in version control, but not explicitly tagged as a version. That’s bad if it’s the actual thing you’re shipping, but if it’s just a smaller part that itself is tagged, it’s perfectly okay.
Look...
Is that audible in your car? I tried several times, and even in the garage I cannot hear it going from or to the “Lift” setting. It just kind of imperceptibly changes height (first one end of the car, then the other it seems), and it’s kind of spooky in a fun way.
I have the Sedan, can imagine...
I wouldn’t read too much into that. As I remember, the version before the SNAPSHOT does not actually increase (or at least I haven’t seen that). One possible explanation is that they just have given up on separately versioning *this* particular component, presumably then because it’s packaged...
Oh wow, that just happened to me. First and only time I've used Direct Charge, too.
Nice to know that had I waited for a day or two, it would not have happened. 😅 But I'm pretty confident that charging it to 100% once won't ruin my battery.
Yeah, the PCM gets a lot of hate. But from the apart from the egregious issues that need to be fixed (mostly the hard crashes or UI crawling down to a halt, requiring reset), I'm actually very happy with the UI concept, ergonomics, and functionality of it.
Don't get your hopes up. The PCM version information screen seems to mostly show versions involving, well, the PCM. At least according to the release notes, that was not what was updated here.
Maybe you can find a difference in the myriad of versions shown in the engineering menu (I'm not...
That is true, but the original conjecture was that MY2020 would not support Plug & Charge *and* OTA, because it was missing the auth module or similar.
