  1. First service due, is it just me or is the price high?

Full coverage of the issue and costs at dealers in the uk is on this thread: https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/uk-service-costs.7305/
  2. UK service & costs

Porsche Portsmouth £825 (three hours labour and brake fluid apparently) Porsche Bournemouth £596 or £536 if the tyre sealeant does not need replacing. Prices are certaintly not standard with dealers. I was going to have a day trip to Colchester but Bournemouth is close enough in pricing for...
  3. Octopus go tariff price increases at end of term??

My octopus 2018 5p/14p tariff rolled over in September for another year and has an end date of September 2022 now. Very happy with octopus doing that and having much lower rates. I did contact them at the time about a new contract and they said they said it would automatically roll over as...
  4. Can someone spell out for me the savings on the Taycan with Salary sacrificeBIK?

Each calculation will be different, espeically if you are using your own Limited company as you tend to take dividends rather than salary. Other variables will be: Hire or lease VAT registered or not Maintenance costs If the employer gives you the Class 1 NIC savings (if employed) Mileage...
  5. UK Taycan Insurance

    Just me then!
  6. UK Taycan Insurance

Has anyone had a quote from Admiral lately? I am currently with them but I have yet to receive my renewal paperwork with three weeks to go and they are not quoting on the comparison websites. Wondering if they have too many Taycan's on their books before I call them.
  7. Auto tightening seatbelts

I don't have too many options. ACC, auto dimming and folding mirrors and lane change assist. That's about it tech wise.
  8. Auto tightening seatbelts

I have a 4s + and standard seats and mine does it.
  9. PCP vs Lease

If it helps, I managed to get round to asking the VAT partner what the official treatment should be on PCP. His response is below: Since 1st June 2019, the correct treatment of PCP and similar contracts depends on the level at which the final optional payment is set: If, at the start of the...
  10. Uk route charging

That was my view, other than Ionity, it seems pointless. Most chargers are just contactless tap and charge with a credit card now anyway.
  11. Uk route charging

I believe you can locate them via the search and the results will work with the Porsche billing: https://www.porsche.com/international/aboutporsche/e-performance/charging-on-the-road/
  12. PCP vs Lease

Yes, got them a few days ago. Not sure if it was because I chased them up via email or if they are just slow in sending normally. They sent a full years payment and VAT schedule in one letter. That's on contract hire, assume PCP will be the same approach.
  13. Any 12V issues in UK?

I think the theory is that it is related to the north American power supply/system. I have not had any issues at all.
  14. Accidentally upsold myself!

I was very happy with my 4S and it is pretty much the fasted thing on the road near me. However, I did the Porsche experience day last week and there happened to be a TS on the track at the same time as me whilst we were using launch control with rapid stops. Happy to say I now want the extra...
  15. Turbo Spec in

RWS I would agree with. I don't have it but drove one that did yesterday and it does make a difference. I don't think the 150kw charger option is needed in the UK due to the voltage used here. There is a thread on it somewhere in the forum.
  16. PCP vs Lease

Get porsche to give you a contract hire price. Mine is on contract hire with them and the monthly price was the same as PCP. The excess mileage charge with Porsche was 12p I think versus my usual lease company at 60p per mile. Payments were the same so I went with Porsche incase I went over...
  17. PCP vs Lease

I would believe VWFS over the dealers. Have a look at the Mercedes Benz agility case if you are bored. PCP since then has been treated as a supply of services (rental) rather than goods. This confirmed that with PCP, VAT was due on each payment the customer makes, hence why VWFS will be...
  18. All weather charging

I put my cable in the boot, mainly as the charger point end does not lock so there is nothing stopping someone stealing the cable if I don't take it with me. It's currently out in the rain and I don't see it being an issue. Water and the boot is a pain, gets me every time I clean the car.
  19. PCP vs Lease

Ignoring residuals, lease is always going to be cheaper due to the vat reclaim. Factoring in residuals, who knows as it's a gamble on the final price and future tax rates. I would not let tax lead the decision in terms of lease v buy as there is no a right answer. Just go with what suits you...
  20. Android Connect Login Fixed

Mine is working much better now as well. The app is now useable.
