:CWL: I'd be unsurprised if _MOST_ of the weight savings are from deletion of the rear seats…cause ya'know it's an EV and there isn't much to be had in terms of weight savings.
PSU7ZUC7 - note - I have ZERO intention of buying one of these.
wow - limited options - $250,255.00 - wow
some notes:
very very few option/choices
sports bucket seats are the ONLY option
no brakes options
EVSE is a $0 option, but not standard equipment
only one set of wheels
very limited...
losing money on a leading edge techincal product that also happens to be a car - who'd of thought…completely 100% surprised - there should be an investigation and determine who is at fault and what can be done about it.
"working" is a matter of definition
but my Macan order is listed on my personal my.porsche.com owner portal - but has no status at this time - the order has not yet shown up in my iOS "myPorsche" app - as to how well TYD ever worked that's a matter of debate, but it provided semi-accurate...
I owned 2 Model S's both with the 80 amp dual charger and a 2016 Model X P90D w/dual chargers - later discontinued for my replacement 2017 Model X P100D w/72 amp onbaord charger
I love faster charging and still have a 100 amp Tesla Gen2 wall charger powered/ready in my garage - but alas no...
2019/2020 Taycan (and all Taycans) support 11 kW charging
see this thread - https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/observed-behavior-north-american-2020-taycan-has-max-11-kw-l2-charger-48-amps-not-max-9-6-kw-40-amps.1793/
in North America Porsche's mobile EVSE PMC+/PMCC is limited to 9.6 kw...
2019/2020 do not support the Plug&Charge protocol for FastDC chargers - but they can start charging at a FastDc charger if it's _FREE_ - the reason to use an app to start a charging session at a public/commercial EV charger is for billing purposes - the car has no way to identify itself to the...
ROFL - no I'm not - I actually saw two options the other day at the Monterey Porsche dealer car show on monday the 14th…
leather fuse box panel
leather AC vents
I didn't care for the look on either of them - and those options remain on my personal "do not check that box" list…and now that I've...
for me it's a must have option on my Porsche's - not for the branding - but it does provide a visual reference when stepping out of the vehicle at night - I appreciate the visual reference and often times provides a valuable sanity check to avoid literal mis-steps getting out the car…it helps...
the good news is on an EV with regenerative braking such as the Taycan (Porsche says in normal use 90% of deceleration is handled by regeneration) brakes are used far far far less than on a conventional car - extending brake life and lower brake dust. Also other than appearance and a slight...
correct the "Middle" seat stretches the definition of "seat" - I mostly recommend the 2+1 option because it gets you a different arrangement for the split fold down which I personally prefer (40/20/40)…
3 people in the back is no bueno even if they are children.
can not order clear side indicated from factory for US vehicle's but it's an easy swap and many people do it - part is easily available and highly recommended.
get the $460 400V/150 kW charger - it saves time and you'll want to drive the Taycan more than you realize - it's also not available as a retrofit - and the future is _NOW_ superchargers are already open to CCS vehicles and more reliable and plentiful.
if you need to keep the price the same...
you want the 400V/150 kW charger so you are not stuck charging at 50 kw charger at Tesla Superchargers…everyone knows this.
https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/just-used-a-tesla-supercharger-for-the-first-time.15439/
email sent to my local dealer sales manager - suggesting Porsche might want to get on the ball here and do something similar for their upcoming Macan EV…
I suggest we all do the same to encourage PCNA to consider a similar approach.
My suggesting is: Technical _ALL_ we need _IS_ the Adapter...
hmmm - maybe not so outlandish after all…
