100% Range on Taycan ST Turbo S

I agree - individual trip numbers don't add up. Mine go from 4.9 to 1.8, but eyeballing the average, it's more like 2.5. Not sure how Porsche gets these numbers - it would be interesting if someone has the algorithm.

100% Range on Taycan ST Turbo S

Both car readout and app agree with 3.1mi/kWh. Here are the readouts:

100% Range on Taycan ST Turbo S

I learned about 'rebalancing' from the Porsche official battery technician, who was at the time one of 11 certified in the US. They flew him in from Atlanta to diagnose and fix my battery which was showing significantly reduced range and was discharging when sitting idle. He identified one...

100% Range on Taycan ST Turbo S

The 260 miles is at fall/winter temperatures. Summer will be closer to the 300.

100% Range on Taycan ST Turbo S

Good question. Over the past 6397 mi. I'm averaging 3.1 mi/kWh.

100% Range on Taycan ST Turbo S

I get over 300 miles (range setting) estimated on my 3-1/2 year old 40K mile Turbo S. As mentioned, this does need to be viewed in the proper context. The temperature affects the range estimates significantly, and the 300+ mile estimate needs to be at almost 70 deg F or higher ambient. Also...

    Best Practices for Charging?

The problem may be the Porsche charger, which is a POS unfortunately. Everyone should get another charger. Charging every day to 85% is not only fine, it may be the best way to charge. I have almost 40K miles and I've been charging every day for 3-1/2 years. I did have two cells replaced 6+...

Need Charger Suggestion for high outlet please

I would check out this relatively new charger. Very high ratings and it is very simple to install. Has a much longer outlet cord than most.

    Eviqo Charger

That is obviously the Porsche charger... ;)

    Eviqo Charger

Anyone tried this? I've installed and it was simple and works great! iPhone control lets you monitor and schedule charging. Very simple - plug and charge 40A is the default. Can do 48A if you hardwire.

Discharge and Rest boosts EV battery SoH

Yes, the OBD SOH is quite helpful in looking at trends and I think is a good indicator, but it is not a precise measurement. As I said in an earlier post, the Porsche Battery Technician used the '2-day' Porsche approved measurement SOH and told me it was 92.26%, whereas my OBD indicated SOH was...

Discharge and Rest boosts EV battery SoH

Yes, this is consistent with my conversation with the Porsche Battery technician that I related in a much earlier thread in early October. https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/taycan-problems-are-overwhelming-an-otherwise-great-car.16987/page-5 He suggested to me that I run my car down to...

The Science and Math - Battery Charging

I've been charging my car overnight to 85% pretty much every day for almost 3-1/2 years, and have over 36,000 miles. I had two (of 33) modules replaced last August, and had a very informative discussion with the Porsche Battery technician. He guessed that one of the cells was probably bad from...

Total measured useable battery capacity of 93.7 kWh

Go to the 'My Porsche' app and if you have the Porsche charger, you'll see a house icon with a plug. Click on his icon, and you'll see a list of recent 'charging processes', with a box saying 'Show charging history'. Click on this box and you can bring up your last 12 months of charging.

Total measured useable battery capacity of 93.7 kWh

Very good point. I hadn't figured on the probably significant energy losses in the cable (lots of heat). Reviewing some of my other OBD readings, I'm seeing 79.35kWh at 99.72% SOC.

Total measured useable battery capacity of 93.7 kWh

I had a very unique charging experience and I think it would be very interesting to see if others have some data that we can compare. I ran the car down to 2% (driving around my home for the last few %), let the car sit the next day, then charged at home to 100% using the Porsche charger. The...

I think my battery is slowly dying. Odd behavior below 10% SOC. Can I make it to the end of my lease?

I agree, and it seems pretty simple at this point. There is clearly something wrong with your battery, and the dealer should fix it. Period. Definitely do not continue driving the car, you're just asking to be bricked at some point.

    Charging to 100%, why not?

Peter, This is definitely strange. My two cells show much higher voltages at low charge, and slightly higher voltages at high charge every. Did you get your HV controller software checked? I would definitely get this checked out at your dealer. I'm also reposting the answer to your question...

    Charging to 100%, why not?

One possibility is if they need to increase your battery capacity to satisfy the 10 year warrantee, they could just release the additional capacity rather than replacing the entire battery. This might be worth a lot more than allowing the whole enchilada from day 1. 🤔

Report - 3 weeks at airport and only 1% battery drain

I had the same experience, but just after a few days. The problem was my Porsche charger was programmed incorrectly, and kept 'interrogating' the car, which eventually drained the 12V battery. I would definitely ask about this if you're using a Porsche charger. Also, I'm not sure keeping the...
