1 of 2 checks received for a Tesla Universal Wall Charger
check #2 pending (I hope).
Units can be on any size "breaker" you want - all the units are hardwired (normally) - in my case 2 units are hardwired, and the 3rd unit is NEMA 14-50 plug based via a heavy duty NEMA 14-50 "oven" electrical pig-tail sold on amazon - units from Tesla only come as hardwired - but other posts...
not that I'm aware - the new Macan EV has this option in North American configurator (eMobility section)
.1 Taycan does not have it
.2 Taycan North American configurator does not offer it…and it's not listed as 'standard equipment'
people who have tested it show that it does not work unless your vehicle/manufacturer is "authorized" by Tesla - to date only Ford/Rivian products will successfully start a charging session at a supercharger.
when the charge session is initiated (either by plug&charge or app based) there is...
from what I've seen there is _NO_ filtering in the app - but actual charging sessions are based on vendor/vehicle authorization - so the app showing you a location means very little - when you pull up to a station and attempt start the session you'll get a "not authorized" message from the Tesla...
if it's compatible with CCS vehicle's there are "magic dock" at the site - you'll use the Tesla app to start a charging session and it will release the magicDocks which are CCS1 adapters for all existing CCS1 vehicles.
it would be an interesting experiment to see if a BYOA (Bring your own...
the Wall Charger from Porsche is not subject to the recall because it's hardwired…
the Porsche Mobile Charger Plug (PMC+) and Porsche Mobile Charger Connect (PMCC) are the subject of the recall
either the PMC+/PMCC were included with the vehicle as standard equipment - and both have a...
yes - this is truth - charging stalls are performing at the rate EA maintains them and allows them to run - your issue is with EA and it's crappy charging network.
s
yes - 350/270 kW is rarely achieved in my experience - it requires the onsite batteries to be fully charged and previoius vehicles not to have drained them…
EA sucks.
lots of historical details here - long story short - Your Charge rate may vary - YCRMV…

there is no way to tell without logs from the EA stations
even money bet EA was throttling the charger and it has nothing to do with your battery - the 350 kW rating on the EA stations are "aspirational" not a "guarenteed"
there are _TON_ for factors involved charging speed - and none of them...
32 amps vs. 40 amps is 8 amps difference
8 / 32 = 25%
charging sessions with a full 40 amp EVSE will be 25% faster than with a 32 amp EVSE
a daily charging session that takes 100 minutes with 40 amps (just over an hour and a half) will take 2+ hours on a 32 amp EVSE…
most of the time this...
