Just have the general set on 90% and plug in every night..... I do not have a very fixed schedule so never really know where I need to go and how far..... And since the Taycan has a pretty dismal onboard charger I seldom have time to wait more than about 20 mins to charge to 100% so having it...
Not sure that the after the fact re-charge numbers are too accurate as to the real range of things...... Any way the Turbo is better than the Turbo S in the official numbers so maybe I should still be pretty happy with 240 miles as even going slow in my mind I still have to roam the horizon for...
You might be on to something.... I keep mine at 90% I'm sure the Porsche batteries are as reliable as the Tesla ones..... LG Chem or Panasonic..... its a toss-up
Interesting! I tried using my TESLA UMC and got a charging error every time....... Wondering if I might have version 1 and that that makes a difference or the European one just does not work on other cars.... It does say on it that it only works with Tesla cars but that can be a legal...
Yah quite amazing. I have put 325 tires on the back with 22” wheels and even with that rubber I am getting 240miles per charge with spirited driving up and down mountain passes and cruising at 140kmh on the highway. And this is with my Turbo S that is only supposed to get 198miles with 305...
completely different issue with IONITY charging stations. i Arrived at the charging station for the first time yesterday. It sits right across from the Tesla super chargers at the same highway stop. out of 4 chargers 2 were down and the 2 working had one with the touch screen broken and could...
Mmmm........ hear you. Not really interested in having the same problems as Louv though.....when the connect app is more usable then I’ll make my timers...... hopefully soon. :-)
But don't forget that we can only tap about 88-90% of the battery pack anyway so charging to 100% is not actually very bad for the battery. I have always charged my Teslas to 90% and have had VERY LITTLE loss of range due to that.... So I suspect that the Taycan is fine being charged to...
The EU M3s have CCS connectors which obviously support type 2 (Mennekes) connectors as well. :)
Great to know that your Tesla wall outlet works since I have quite a few of them!
Yah had similar problems but it was early days... :) Then I wanted the new 3.0 battery for the roadster and left the car with Tesla. 2 years later still no 3.0 battery and tesla had bricked my car...... :CWL: still waiting for a replacement battery..... :crying: The roadster is a fun little car!
this is interesting..... have been following but now getting more and more interested....... wonder if it will do the same with Tesla‘s EVSE........ was not planing to change mine but might have to do that...... has anyone reproduced Don’s problem with a Tesla EVSE? Don, do you know anyone...
This was and is a real issue on the old Tesla roadster. And to some extent on the early model Ss..... on the newer cars they have a tighter DC-DC converter/charger system which has mostly eliminated this problem to a pure service item at the annual service.... but sometimes there are bad 12V...
‘yes we should and i for one will. This is really sad. And will make people hesitate to buy VW group BEVs........ As for now my long-ranger will stay Tesla.
I think you are probably about 50% maybe even more but if you do go off the beaten path even a little then you always need to have a mobile "charger" with you and extra end pluggs to suit different types of sockets you can encounter on the road...… In Europe as well as in the US... I always...
