Update - 1 year without my 4S
8 months in warranty repair. The rest waiting Consumer Dispute Board decision - while the car should not be used.

UPD - 8 months faulty will pass 19th August.. At Porsche Espoo since 1st January as they were too busy to take it before. The August repair day was last monday. No contact - no message from Porsche.
UPD - HALF YEAR has passed and Porsche Espoo will do something to it next August
UPD - 151 days passed and nobody knows how many days to come.
UPD - 135 days

UPD - got call from Porsche!
UPD - obviously the third round of parts and work did not success. Still no information from Porsche Espoo other than time reserved for the car last friday.


My 2020 4S has now been 72 74 77 84 135 days unusable - Red 'Electrical system fault' .
Porsche Espoo/Finland was too busy to take it into service before 1.1.2024 when it left on flatbed.
I bought this car december 2021 and it gave this error first time 28th of dec. 7 times during cold temperatures like - 20 to - 30C. Only once during summer.
After service visits Porsche told it's solved by updates and fault returned after cold time's returned over half year later.
So it looks like this problem has now existed during three years and after this 72 74 77 100 135 days I still don't have any estimate when it will run again.. if ever.
Is this a record time or just typical situation?

I too had a red Electrical system fault. Took a long time to resolve and the fix was WPN8 (which didn't work) followed by a new 12V battery which did... Of course there are multiple potential causes of this fault so YMMV.

I hope your issue gets resolved soon. Very frustrating.

Over a year ago I complained about 12V battery issues as this error raised after battery voltage display goes very fast from ca. 13.5V to ca. 12.0 V during 'starting' if the weather was cold.
If it stayed over 12.5 V before the DC/DC converter kicked in - no error.
So they said they ordered the 12V battery for this but after service they told it was not changed and this was just software issue!
Until now they have changed on board charger and converter (I don't know which converter..).
Looks like they have new parts for the coming friday as there's time slot reserved..

The Porsche Approved warranty insurance from 'Real Garant Versicherung AG' ends 1.5.2024.
I don't know who can afford to keep these things running after warranty as it takes months to service and tens of thousands (€) in parts.

This car remainds me of old german card play 'Schwarzer Peter' where in end of the game the loser is the one with the 'Peter' ...

This looks like MM - Mileage Marathon for me.

Bummer…. sorry to hear a lot of issues with these early cars 20/21. Neighbor has a 4S and he has had nagging issues
Was purchased new and last year. It was in the shop for nearly 3 months straight.

Mine was in for a year or so :) got rid of it 6mo in. Hope they fix your one quicker 🙏

Mine was in for about 75 days but they fixed it. I had the same error in early December 23 and they ended up replacing a few battery modules. The first time this occurred the error disappeared overnight and there were no codes for them to assess the problem. The second time is when I left it at the dealership to fix in December. Mine is a MY22.
I thought these long delays were only in the US. I guess it is worse in EU. Sorry to hear and I hope you get it fixed soon.

They told they analyze the problem and open a ticket with it to Porsche Ger. Then someone some day checks the ticket and sends an IGBT to try with. After they have the part they reserve time at the shop and try. (optimally 2-3 weeks).
Then they find out there's something else wrong and this starts again...
I'm in the third round now at 73 days.

We have the same ticket system with two of our laser suppliers but it never works this bad and industrial lasers does not have such 'epidemic' problems.

Plan is to get rid of this thing too. Maybe I swap it to 2001 MB G-series with 5,4l V8. Sucking tons of fuel per year but with ancient technology which could be repaired in our shop. Major fail could take a week. (even the front axle looks the same as in 1943 Willys MB)

Sorry to hear hopefully it get fixed soon. Unfortunately these long service times are a thing. Mine was in a little more then 120 days before it was fixed. Porsche really needs to address this. To top it off if, if it wasn’t under warranty it would have been a 50k+ bill. Both are just plain unacceptable.

84 days and Porsche Espoo Finland even contacted me! There's some functionality visible ie. car updates information to servers/app now.

They estimated one week should be enough to have it on the road again. Do I trust .. ?

This is the third winter this Trashcan is in service during coldest times. Magically the problems have been solved towards summer.. and then returned during next cold weather.

This looks like the point when this car must go.
