Well The Autobahn Specialist is back at it in a Taycan Turbo S now. At night with suboptimal tire pressure.

Folks with a Taycan do you see this behavior now. His charging went to a crawl at 99% much like a Tesla because there is little or no reserve so it has to ballance big time. See the offset 2:25.

Also what leads to estimate that Porsche opened full battery now at least on his car is. See end of trip screen at 4:30 where he says battery at 74% and test started at 98%. Looking at 118.2km dist and 19.9kWh/100km say 25% is 23.5kWh so full would be 93.9kWh usable from pack yet that would be the full pack.

Certainly different than September 2019 when I saw the Taycan charge from 99% to 100% at 19kW.

Note that I am not complaining, just wanted to understand if there have been battery level changes.
Would love feedback from other owners.

He seems however to have turned off the HVAC? I can see the settings to be off. Is that really relevant. I would like to see these types of test with normal usage patterns. I would not try to drive with all that turned off!

I understand what you are saying; however, HVAC on adds complexity as you really need to know outside temp and HVAC setting. Also heating takes 3x more power than cooling from my Bolt EV tests. I don't mean to disregard your commitment, I'm only saying it's sometimes easier to compare ranges with HVAC off and vary other things like winter vs summer tires, 20" vs 21" rims, 4S vs Turbo S. There are so many variables.

I guess there are two questions:
How does car A compare to Car B ?
How do the cars compare based on my driving style and conditions I usually drive in

The first is a lot easier than the second, the second has way too many permutations to satisfy everyone

I guess the theory is that you can infer a lot of the second from the first - as long as the cars are similar in terms of how they deal with conditions (eg, one car doesn’t use half the battery when the ac is on)

A daytime run of Taycan Turbo S by The Autobahn Specialist.

He is Speechless....

25C day, no HVAC flat and dry.
Pretty much ideal conditions
17.1kWh/100km @ 100kph 62mph
Est range 526km 325mi
22.5kWh/100km @ 130kph 81mph
Est range 400km 248mi

But remember this is a Turbo S on 21" summer tires. 305s in the back!
