Not sure if I am asking the right question but do I need to turn off ac while/before charging? This will give me more miles? What range mode is good for extra miles? Thank you.The high potential range is misleading as a) the battery is warm from a charging session, b) ambient temp is mid 20s, c) the car doesn't know how or how far you are going to drive, d) assume Performance Battery Plus for the highest ranges..and no doubt a few other things besides.
AC off will add miles for sure.
Range mode will add a few but not many.
Trip readings for a single journey will give you a consumption figure - short journeys the number will be low and longer ones higher (typically).
Total Trip Since will give you an average since you last reset it. If you haven't then the consumption figure will be a good average for the life of the car.
The main Porsche Taycan website has a range estimator which is quite useful as you can tune to suit your use case more or less.
3.1 mi/kWH - sounds good.250-260 for me. However, I find that the range number bounced around as the Porsche software tries to guesstimate. I just returned from a 1700Km (1,062 mi) trip from the Pacific to the Rockies and back. Averaged right around 5KM per KwHr (3.125 mi/KwHr) which means around 400Km actual. Driving mainly in Range mode and much of the time on cruise control. Fairly hot weather with AC on all the time.
Not necessary during charging. Not sure if I am asking the right question but do I need to turn off ac while/before charging? This will give me more miles? What range mode is good for extra miles? Thank you.
I've averaged 3.2 mi /kWH from new (according to the Trip Meter). I wish folk who publish 300+ miles would also publish their mi / kWH as the headline number isn't that meaningful (and I'm sure quickly depletes).
My latest full charge up showing a nice improvement of estimated max range.Latest full charge estimate max range, not shabby, can't complain
Don't forget you always have brake recuperation (more effective than overrun which you have to enable) and so 'driving' like a nutter' will have a positive impact on range. My car gets 220 miles dead on, consistently. And the guesstimate matches my actual miles to a t. I drive like a nutter though, ac always on, no regen, and never in range mode. Temps avg about 55-60F here
Sorry but you don't have access to the full 93.4 kWh due to battery protection. Do the math on 83.7 kWh.RWD with performance battery plus and mostly using range mode. I never charge past 85% but 3.3mi/kWH (multiply by 93.4 battery capacity) = 308 miles of range
…how so?'driving' like a nutter' will have a positive impact on range.
