When I went through the PCM to set up everything, it made me setup a 4 digit passcode. Is that normal or did I push something that I shouldn't have? Can I turn that security feature off?

It asked me as well. There is another screen (also under settings) where you can select between having the system ask you for your pass code, just confirm its you (yes/no), or simply log you in without any questions. (It knows you by your key fob).

Be careful what you select if you ever let someone else valet or park your car. If you don't require some sort of validation, they could really mess up your settings . (There is also a default Guest Account they would be forced to use if they don't have an actual account).

Thanks, Ed. I'll look for that.

This Wednesday I could login to the car and went through the kabuki to set up the car. I specifically set it up for no pass code upon start up. That lasted one day. This morning the car wanted the pass code at several start ups. Some times it wouldn't accept the pass code. Some start ups today it didn't care about pass code. Aargh. Update: with some guidance I got rid of the need for code entry.

You always using the same key fob? The other fob is nowhere in the vicinity?

Yes the other key fob was in the house.

It is working correctly now after un-checking the pin code required button. I also did my first home charge to 85% last night. Whew.
