my dealer advising me to get the 16amp instead oof the 32 amp ...and when I asked him why I couldn't get his point

can someone please explain this ? as my understanding 400*16 =6.4 kw/h
400*32=12.8 kw/h
so why go for the slower one ??

The Porsche Mobile Charger Connect maxes out at 11kW anyway. It will basically depend on what socket you have, I have a 400V 16A so obviously got that one. The PMCC detected it had that lead attached and set the appropriate current limit.

400V 3 phase @ 16A is 11kW so matches the standard built in charger. 32A could give you 22kW but the PMCC isn't capable of supplying that, and you would need to spend the extra $2k on the upgraded charger inside the car, for limited benefit.

So the only benefit I can see is if it matches the socket you have on your wall.

I have a 230 V 32 A single phase system in my outlet, so I have use for a 32 A cable, it provides around 7 kW.

i wish I could opt for the new 22kw but that would delay my order which is not worth it

It's a bit hard to access the right information but there are 32A cables for both single and 3 phase supplies. And it does appear in the manual linked below that there's a 22kW version of the PMCC.

But as I say it's dependent on your car spec and home electricity supply, and as others have said elsewhere the benefits of charging faster are maybe not that great if you're plugging it in at home overnight.

the onboard 22kw charger option is new to the configuratore so my car will not get that
mine will come with the 11KW

as per my calculation, I think I can safely say I can get around 0.5KM /min with the 11KW
correct me if I'm wrong

Usually, a 32 A cable needs to have a thicker gauge to be able to support the current safely, I presume a three phase system puts an even higher load, needing an even thicker wire.

0,7km/min and 10kw at the car from a 22kw capable PMCC. I will look into retrofitting the 22kw AC/DC converter if price is not over the top. I was advised they may have a kit around mid to late 2021.

No this info is outdated. The PMCC can now do 22kW and why I waited on my order until now as I have 32A at home. So cuts charging time in half at home.

I was actually confused about the Porsche Switzerland website not listing this and they actually updated it after I asked the question :) .

That being said it is still incorrect in the second line but then correct and updated in the “Produktvarianten“ line that lists 9,6, 11 and 22 kW.

There are as you say a number of different PMCC available. I have one that came with the Car from March of this year and it can charge at Max 22 kW. I have tried it with a friends Zoe and it worked just fine. Zoe is well known to be troublesome to charge as well.

For me the limiting factor is the charger in the car.
