Have an ALP and integrated radar in two cars - It’s simply an add on - a mod means modifying an OEM component but honestly, if you don’t get that, that’s OK. Let’s just move on.
Sure. I don't quiet understand how putting tint on glass is a mod but embedding laser heads in bumpers and/or headlights with integrated customized displays to blend with the rest of the interior is not a mod but an add on, but I don't have to understand it. Agreed to disagree on the terminology. I like you car, with mods and/or add-ons. :like:

PS> Share some pics on if/when you install the radar/laser defense add on. I'm always curious how people set install them, especially on a type of car I will be installing my own.

Man that volcano looks incredible. Sincerely wish I would have opted for it. Also, love the black rear plate - I would need to register my car as a military vehicle to get that over here - but hey, the CT is a bit of a tank I guess.
Ha- well it sure doesn’t move like a tank - amazing vehicle! - albeit some modern tanks are pretty damn agile :)

Guess you missed the OEM part :).
Mine is a simple definition - mods change the physical, mechanical or performance of OEM parts. Add-on’s are just that, something that is not OEM and added to the vehicle e.g. a radar detector. Now coding displays to show radar data absolutely a mod in my book.

Still mulling Escort vs Redenso with ALP integration - thermal glass is requiring external mounts for me.

Picture right off the truck on arrival at my dealership - still in 'monster truck' transport block mode:

Undergoing PDI at the dealership - got caught in a heavy rain shower overnight outside so rather dirty at this stage :):

PDI Complete and ready to send off to the Xpel shop for PPF and tint (still in bad need of washing!):

A teaser from my SA - PPF (front half) and Tint applied and full detail of the car by dealership (lot more to come):

Looking forward to Tuesday :)

Awesome day so far - believe it or not but I got EVERYTHING with my car i.e. two key fobs, all electronics (steering column, phone charger, TPMA, Sun sensor etc.) - amazing. The only hiccup so far is I cannot register i.e. login to create my profile on teh car. Annoying but will get there.

Just throwing some pics out here from delivery - actually took them before I had the clear side markers put on but will add more pics later - man, spectacular drive home in all Sport Plus more :) This thing is a smooth as silk and forgot to mention, walking up to it for the first time just really emphasizes how sleek and low profile the car is in person - seems particularly hard to replicate in pictures as they tend to 'inflate' the rear end!

Finally did a quick charge check at home at immediately got 10.5 kW with my ChargePoint HomeFlex - nice!

Early days - more to come - unfortunately the sun was pouring through the clear garage door so a bit washed out:

Back home - the hips on this thing! :)
Bit of a deceptive angled shot as that is a two-car opening!!

IMG_4679.jpg

Ignore range as obviously not broken in yet but nice charge rate :)

IMG_4685.jpg

This from my SA Jake taken before I got there :) - EDIT: WRONG!
I just now realized, pretty funny, but sneaky bugger set this pic up on way back from service where they installed the clear side markers on pick-up day whilst I was paying for the thing - good one Jake :)

Massage seats excellent although TBH have not used enough yet to really provide you proper feedback for impact on long trips which to me is the main reason for getting them - def no regrets though on what I have experienced so far.

In regards the crests I know some folk seem to want something 'loud' and immediately noticeable but I actually prefer subtle and so I am perfectly happy with my choice there - YMMV! A little bit of distinction to otherwise std seats - certainly not a must have but if you can afford it why not :)

Can' get to car right now but thought I had shared this pic - possibly not of the rear seats in which you can see the crests - if you'd like more views front/back let me know:

Thanks! I have both optioned in for my build so am curious. I would prefer something subtle, but its a little hard to see the impact of the crests from this angle. I have truffle brown leather though so not sure how it would show up on the darker colors.

Following up re crests: few quick snaps with car parked inside garage so dark setting (apologies should prob just do a proper photoshoot of all the options for those interested and post - maybe later).

I'll be modifying the function of the OEM bumper to provide laser detection and jamming capabilities in addition to just deflecting the wind and looking good, so it's a mod then (hey, if painting it counts as a mod, so why not drilling holes in it and adding lenses) :CWL:

Yea, I used to be a Valentine One user since the 90's, but then metallic coated windshields forced me to go remote-mount. Now I wouldn't go back, especially that you cannot laser jam from a windshield mount. I am however considering a custom remote mount V1 plus a separate laser countermeasures solution (Stinger or ALP). By custom remote mount V1 I mean I would mount it on top of the glass roof in a custom weatherproof enclosure with a magnet (make it look like one of those fin GPS/XM antennas). None of the other remotes work as well as V1 for radar and directional alerts. I did one of those roof mounted ones (solid roof, just drilled a hole for mounting and wires, so permanent installation) long ago with an invisible custom controller inside (radar detectors were illegal where I lived then) - it worked amazing and looked just like other cars with the fin antennas.

Never had any prob with defining your own terms - just sticking to mine in my own thread - whatever works for you my friend :)

V1 agreed excellent but have to say (no laughing!) that the Escort Max has surprised me - saved my butt on way more than one occasion and it truly does a decent job in cutting noise - but also agree re remote mount - just hesitating on plunging in again as def the most expensive solution!

My Stinger VIP has both front and rear radar, definitely saved me on more than one occasion, but its directional and multi-source warnings are nowhere near the V1 capabilities. Yes, the remote mount is expensive, especially if you have someone else install it (installation costs more than the hardware). Personally, I do the install myself both to save money and because I like things done a certain way (some people refer to my ways as "overengineered", but I enjoy overengineering things like this). That said, I also completely understand why most people are not comfortable doing it on their own - it takes a lot of work, especially on a car you've never worked on before which you have to reverse engineer because the manufacturer is not sharing repair manuals.

If you knew me you'd understand that doing it yourself is always the first option :) The exception is things like paint and PPF - too much of a pain to be doing yourself albeit the result very satisfying. Never had a prob modifying a perfectly new car.

Yea, tinting, ppf, body paint are not something I even attempt to do either, though I did think about learning how to tint windows of my own cars for fun (and to avoid having to go back for corrections, which somehow almost always happens, one of the surfaces ends up with foreign material and needs a redo). Since you didn't mention tint, have you done it yourself? How long did it take you to learn?
