And regarding the Software update I learned from a dealer that update does only run when the charger is not actively charging a car. Maybe this is your problem you're facing.
I tried several times to get the software update while it was unplugged from the car - it kept failing - the only way I was able to get the update was to “keep the screen” alive while it was downloading the update by touching the screen periodically until the update was complete.

I see the potential of the $3225 EVSE - but I’m not sure Porsche’s solution is superior to the $1800 dual clipper creek chargers with Share2 functionality.

You're right. If this is the true pricing, it is ridiculous. I found the option pricing "ok" but 3225$ is mad.

The cost of the 25 foot car charging cable (7PP-971-676-BC) is $927.95.
you can purchase the following for just the cost of the Porsche 25ft cable
  1. Tesla Gen2 UMC 32 amp charger
  2. a full set of NEMA adapters (8 different north american plug types)
  3. 80 Amp JDApter/TeslaTap
  4. includes a bag for your mobile usage
but about $100 _LESS_ that just the the 25 cable from Porsche.

Dave,

You do have the option to disable the PIN on the PMCC. Use the web interface to PMCC for a better experience...........

OBTW, PMCC's web interface allows you access to Charging diagnostics. I can confirm that PCNA now has the diagnostics from the PMCC for my VERY HOT charging session last Saturday evening.

I’m not trying to rub it in - I know you made a fully informed purchasing decision and I don’t fault you for it - that particular part price just struck me as an entire road warrior kit...porsche is amazing sometimes with their pricing.

This is my “on the road” setup. Compact, simple, always works, and prepared for multiple charging options. Currently my “at home” option too, until the Porsche charger somehow gets out of its permanent downloading loop.

Those prices are right off a two-week old invoice.

Oh, and I would not bother just yet running down to your local Porsche dealer here in the US to buy this stuff. The PMCC unit takes about six weeks or more to come from Germany. And none of the Porsche Parts warehouses in the US have ANY of these parts in stock yet. They are all special order.

And do NOT get suckered into thinking that because you ordered the PMCC from your reliable Porsche parts source you will magically have another functional PMCC at your disposal. Please remember, this is a Porsche!!! There is real pride and honor in one's ability to navigate PET and know what ALL you must order!

Just FYI. The cost of the PMCC (7PP-971-675-BL) purchased by itself, is $2093.88. The cost of the 25 foot car charging cable (7PP-971-676-BC) is $927.95. The cost of the 14-50 power whip (7PP-971-678-ED) is $203.42. The cost of the "Fixing Set" (the 2 M4x10 countersunk Torx screws and the Torx T-15 allen wrench, 9Y0-927-129) is unknown right now as the dealer just gave me the kit!

So, to get a complete functional charger outside of your initial purchase will cost you at least $3,225.25 plus sales tax/VAT in your area. Please keep in mind, you MUST have all four parts listed above to have a complete and functional PMCC.

Please don't ask me how I know.........

Toby
Ok, come clean Toby. Why do you know this?

Well that makes the price of the 2nd Gen Mobile Charger (not Connect) a bargain at $1,310.73. Also 5-7 week delivery window according to my dealer.
