I just watched his review. He doesn’t understand that the brake pedal triggers regenerative braking and that the friction brakes are only used when additional stopping force is required. I’ve grown very used to one pedal driving myself, and I do wish Porsche had that as a config option (it’s just software), but it gets back to the reviewer’s comment: they’re trying to make the experience as close to an ICE porsche as possible.

Yeah, it drove me nuts that he kept talking about the brake pads.

And I don’t get the ICE vs EV reference. Is he just talking about the one pedal driving as you mention?

It’s not an inherent properly of electric motors...it’s drive control to reduce the output frequency below the motor rpm. It’s not like Porsche is making the motor do something unnatural to simulate an ICE...which is what he made it sound like.

They already took away my clutch. Don’t take away my brake too.
