Hey, not sure if this has been posted before, but the front flaps do a test close and open when you unlock the car.
I knew they close at certain points to maximise efficiency when driving and open when cooling is necessary but I never realised this.

Just wanted to make you all aware of another cool feature.

What model year is yours? I think it may do it to ensure the area isn’t blocked or damaged?

Very strange. I will check again in the morning. Does it do it every time you unlock/lock or only on the first unlock each time?

So I checked this again and it does not do it on unlock for my car. I am not sure why or if it is something not functioning correctly. I am not too concerned by it but would like to know if it’s something that happens all the time on unlock for others and if it’s related to a particular drive mode the car is in, ie range vs normal vs sport/+

Thanks

Hmmm same as me
Hello!

I think I might have figured it out. I think this action only happens if you have pre-conditioning heating/cooling switched on to activate on key unlock. Then it happens on the first unlock. If you lock and unlock again it will not happen as the pre-conditioning check I guess has already been done and is active.

Does that sound right for you as well? As this way the fins did a cycle for me as well.

I had absolutely no idea my car has fins that open and close in the front.

Now I know what those mechanical sounds are coming from the front of the car... saw them in action... pretty neat...
