Any hopes for prior Taycan's for significant upgrade?

Heck, I'm still trying to get Porsche to figure out why I can't add ALK to by car via FoD and that's a supported upgrade! The thing doesn't even show up as a purchasable option for me (yes, I have the requisite ACC already).
It took a couple of months after purchase before ALK and Innodrive showed up in features on demand for our car.

Oh, good to know! Thanks for that info!

Right now only 2 connect services (like the security stuff) show up but none of the functions (ALK, steering plus, etc). After driving a Tesla for 3 years, I want ALK to get back some autopilot functionality for those boring drives when the 405/605/91/105/110 becomes a parking lot. ACC isn’t bad though in the interim.

Steering Plus (Power Steering Plus (PSP)) is standard on all US cars so it will never appear.

Do you guys think we will get any significant upgrades after the announcement? I highly doubt it, no announcement was made that anything will trickle down to us. I was hoping for at least a higher net battery upgrade but doubt that will happen. PCM upgrade likely not coming, efficiency improvement or power upgrades a pipe dream as well.
I believe that most of the improvements are hardware related and so difficult to implement in older models. It’s the same when you buy an iPhone or computer. The day you buy it you know it will be obsolete soon of newer versions become available soon.

Why horrible business move ? I would argue the opposite. That's one of the main things that there are so many Tesla fans ... continuous upgrades and new features with no additional charge.
Sounds great in theory but I don’t think they are incentivized enough to keep the old one “on par” with new ones, obviously us early adopters are limited by hardware anyway - but I do agree to a certain extent , there should be some viable upgrades for years to come , I’m not going to continue to upgrade every time there’s a new “better” car

I wish there was a way to disable PSP via the PCM. I heard you could do it if you bought it via FoD, but my car came with it.

PCM hardware is unchanged due to long compliance cycle. That is why HUD is unchanged.
This also means that the PCM is compatible with new the updates in the Refresh.
What they decide to give us is a different story.

I am hoping for:
Left tube HV battery tile
Driver Assist in the Middle tube
Different styles for the Power Meter
Route Planning 3x faster for computing offset to the cloud
CarPlay improvements although I am not a user

This is the way Assistance systems should be displayed to start with - in the middle:

This tile we absolutely should get:

Honestly most of the improvements don't bother me a lot, I like the PCM.

However, that charging screen/charge status in the instrument cluster we should have had all along and not just when charging. I would like this as an option instead of watching my tyre pressures constantly

I do have to agree it's a balancing act. Porsche wants to maintain a strong loyalty base of owners, and one way to do that is to not obsolete the car every 4 years. They also of course don't want to incentivize you to keep your 4 year old car - much better for them if you get a new one. Tricky, but I think they'll probably continue to incorporate improvements via software to the older cars, but certainly not to the point where they significantly reduce the differentiation between the 'old' and the 'new' cars.

My personal point of view is I would love the higher battery capacity and range, don't really care about the charging speed - I've never 'waited' in my car for more than 10-15 minutes. I plug in, head into whatever store/restaurant is around and grab some food and drink, head to the bathroom, then back to the car. Then I sit for 5 - 10 minutes eating and/or planning my next stop, and by then, the car is almost always ready to go.

Lot of Taycan owners are leased cars. Providing upgrade will keep the resale value higher, that reduce depreciation and total lease value, increasing car sales.

For brand fans like us, keep the motivation to stay loyal, buy a fun car for the weekend, etc. The only tradeoff here is the cost of labor in the dealership since OTA sucks in current Taycan

Exactly. I’m trying to get a Targa to add to stable

I'd rather they opened it up so you could have any info in any of the three tubes (four if you include HUD).

Porsche should provide us with all upgrades possible as they are proven and become available, my wife has a 2022 Tesla 3 Long range, stared with 450kM on a single charge has received two upgrades increasing the range to 560kM.
We appear to be the guinea pigs for this model and accept the many faults believing that it will get better. Therefore if it has improved we should be provided the improvements. Each time I enter my car I am not sure what to expect, what fault will pop up next. I just returned to my car to be greeted by a blank Porsche screen. Parked the car and restarted still remained blank for the thirty minute drive home. Parked in the garage for thirty minutes and restarted the car and the PCM returned, this is minor.
However I have had several issues where my car has been at the dealer for up to six weeks awaiting parts from Germany. If it was not for the courtesy of the service technician at my dealership, I would of handed back the keys months ago. We are all a little to accepting of the brand because when the vehicle works there is no other like it. However I live with a Tesla owner, who just looks at me and shakes her head each time I complain that something is not working or the car is at the dealership. I'm rambling. regardless the upgrades should be provided as soon as

My PCM was stuck at the startup screen this morning, for the entire duration of the drive (~50min). I accepted it, but I shall be severely disappointed if I don't have more power and more range by the time of the drive back home.

I’m hoping when I hit 99,000 miles I can just slip a new 115KW (or better) battery into my classic 2020. A bit longer range and a whole lot cheaper than giving them my car and $100,000 for a new 4S with similar spec!
