Seems having a Type 2 32A (22kva) cable in the boot is mandatory to avoid anxiety on long trips.

Any suggestions on what would make a good Portable solution?

What charger did you get with the car - PMC Plus or PMCC (with display screen)?

Both are portable and can easily be undocked. PMCC is heavier (22kW capable, supply permitting) and PMC Plus is lighter but offers a lower charging rate.

If you are limited to plugging the charger into a normal wall socket e.g. 13A 3 pin plug then charging will be glacial and only for dire emergencies. Either PMC Plus or PMCC will charge at the same rate in these situations.

Questionable therefore if you need another charger.

PMCC. I ended up getting a type 2 to type 2 cable for the 7 a 22kw chargers out their with BYO cable. Other than that the ultra Rapid chargers are doing the trick and I am becoming more accustomed to the range on the Taycan.
