What are you trying to accomplish by doing this?

I’m not sure there will be much you can do to prevent the rock chips. My experience with plastidip in the past has told me that it does not resist impacts very well.

if anything, a good PPF installer might be able to cover the areas of concern. My PPF guys says that he has done some wheels on Ferraris and the like with carbon fiber wheels, but the caveat was that those cars are not daily driven, so less likely to have peeling of the film.

maybe also you could have a wheel repair place put on a couple of more coats of clearcoat?

Easier to just repaint the spokes every five years.
This was my assessment when I had Mission E's.

PPF won't work due to heat from the brakes.

Just roll with it and plan on refinishing the wheels when they get bad.

I put 30K on mine and only had a couple of tiny chips, FWIW.

I have 10k on mine and the only damage is some tiny spots of light sand blasting that you’d only notice if you bent down to clean the wheels.

I have never used the clear finish Plasti Dip, but I have used the regular Plasti Dip on some Titan T7 TS-5 Wheels for my Tesla Model 3. I wanted to change the color from Satin Titanium to bronze. The color below was called "Brass Monkey".

If applied properly, the Plasti Dip is very durable and strong. After applying, there is another product called Dip Coat that is applied to harden the plasti dip and make it feel more like paint. I had it on the car for about 3 years and it was more durable than people think. I think in order to get it all off, dip dissolve would have been needed to remove it. I ended up selling those wheels separately and the new owner decided to keep the plasti dip on to protect the original finish of the wheel.

Only dealer option I bought “tire and wheel package” for $3K. Already got a tire replaced and a wheel repainted in first year “covered”.
