I knew from other threads on here that the rear camera wasn't great, but is it really this bad for everyone?

This is me reversing onto my drive. I have the outside wall of the house on the left and a 2ft drop on the right so I need to be pretty careful reversing. This camera view is next to useless - is everyone else's this bad?

No, it’s just yours, although it looks at night which won’t help.

clean the lenses on the cameras and see If still the same after that.
I had a BMW 6 Series before my Macan and the rear view camera lens was always clean because it was concealed behind a revolving BMW badge. Really neat design that it’s disappointing Porsche and others haven’t adopted.
The Macan lens is above the rear number plate and gets caked in grime at this time of year, rendering it useless at the end of a journey.

Shame the Taycan appears to be as bad when so much else has been well thought through.

I agree with the other comment - you should first try cleaning the rear camera lens - looks dirty. Mine is clear - not the best camera I have seen (probably in part for its position) but at least its clear

The cameras are awful, the worse I have ever had. The fact the auto park assist cokes on all the time (and you can’t permanently turn off) is a joke too

You know you can spray your camera, right? Just tap on the icon in the picture. It cleans remarkably well. It won't cure the horrible fisheye distortion though....

Have you tried this?

I tried to uncheck it but the next day it's checked again...
Seems like a bug as other owners don't have this problem.
At their cars it stays unchecked.

You lucky!! :)

Mine just sprays the plastic near the lens and hardly cleans it at all.

Press the screen here in the yellow circle that may help it clear

I pressed the circled area on my computer monitor just like you said but my rear camera still sucks. Did I do something wrong?

Check the direction of the nozzle. Mine sprays spot on - it does not remove the dirt completely, but view is fairly good for ay least 20-30 seconds

Mine doesn’t stay unchecked either. If I mute the audio for park assist it comes back on again as well

Thanks all, I knew about lens cleaning but I find it doesn't make much difference. This is after wiping with a cloth:

so marginally better I suppose.

The dealer in Oslo (Norway) changed my camera module (before I got the car), so my picture is quite god.

Software issue:
I have the same problem. After changes (eks.: setting sound to "low") it`s not saved to the system.
The next time I start up the car, I have the old values.

Unless you actually have a possessed, purple glowing Merc in your garage, it looks like your camera isn’t working properly. Maybe an issue with the IR filters (although I really don’t know what I’m talking about). Anyway, the video shouldn’t look like that with a clean camera so you should definitely get your dealer to sort it out.
