Are my ventilated seats not functioning properly or are they just really bad?

I’ve never owned a car with vented seats, but have rented a few (mostly Ford) and you can definitely FEEL the seats being ventilated.

When I turn mine on full power on my ‘21 Taycan (new to me) I can barely feel ANY ventilation, and mostly just from a single area on the bottom portion of the seat.

I can hear the fans, but there’s almost zero difference in “coolness” with them on high versus off.

Is bad ventilated seats a known thing with the Taycan’s or is this a possible maintenance/warranty issue for malfunctioning parts?

thank you!

You can adjust the regions from which air comes, somewhere burried in the menus.

I have it set to 0 which I assume is back and butt.

still, I’ve tried putting it entirely on my butt and entirely on my back and barely feel anything at all.

I'm not sure if this is what I am talking about.

It should be a display of the chair, with red and blue zones

Yeah, I know what you are talking about. It is in the comfort settings area. The display has sliders with a number setting if you adjust more towards the butt or your back

Maybe try cleaning your seats a bit harder. The little holes for air might be full with junk.
A detailer could do that for you, as they have stronger vacuums.

Other than that, short of having a porsche dealer inspect them, i don't have any other ideas.

Truthfully, it is pretty lame. My 2020 Dodge SUV is 500% more effective. It seems to be designed for Grand Touring over a long period of time = subtle ventilation.

I believe there may be diminished air flow if you have the fabric vs leather seats. I had ventilated leather seats in my '21 and I could definitely feel it more than I do with the ventilated fabric in my '25.

Mine are leather :/. I am still under warranty so might just have the dealer check it out. They have to fix my rearview camera spray cleaner anyhow

There is no cooling function and only ambient temperature air is circulated

I have the same issue on my 2020. I took it to the dealer and they claim it's because the seats are dirty. I wish they went their detailer clean the seats to prove it was because they were dirty but they didn't.

Are you sure? I could swear it pushes colder air in mine.
Is this written somewhere?

Why would they not use the cooled air from the car hvac/ventialtion?

Compared to my experience in Infinitis, BMWs and Land Rover, the cooling effect in my panamera and now taycan is much less/weaker.

That’s crazy. I’ve been in a few cars where the ventilation makes the seats COLD. I’m surprised Porsche doesn’t have that capability.
Unfortunately I tested the car in the late winter so I wasn’t able to gauge it very well.

It wasn’t a deal breaker for me, but would’ve been nice to know

Seat ventilation needs to be adjusted, as mentioned earlier. But even then it's rather subtle - or weak depending on your point of view. Some other car brands have "cooled" seats, but the Taycan only has "ventilated" seats blowing internal cabin air, not specially cooled air. And that ventilation is rather subtle. I'm in Northern California, with moderate climate, so it's not a problem. But in a very hot area I imagine it might not be enough cooling.
