I'm going to predict @LukeManning 's answer - Porsche has not yet committed to Apple Car Keys…

it's very unlikely we'll hear about this for the Taycan before other Porsche Vehicles- this will need to be integrated into he supply chain and different offerings from porsche are in different phases of their refresh cycle - like CarPlay support it will come to the Porsche line "over time" as each vehicle presents it's opportunity to have the necessary hardware integrated into their design and supply chain…

google search yields no announcement from Porsche (or VW/Audi) at this time.

just spent 30 minutes in the internet - VW/Audi/Porsche have said _NOTHING_ regarding apple car key…literally nothing.

in fact in my searching _NO OTHER_ manufacturer has announced support either - ONLY BMW to date…

I'm afraid (other than for porsche) this will be a stunted feature until the android side of the equation is more clear - I doubt most manufacturers are going to add support for this until there is hardware in the supply chain that will support both Apple and Android.

FWIW, Apple's work on car key is in conjunction with the Carconnectivity Consortium. According to their website, members include:

Apple, BMW, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, LG, Panasonic, Samsung and Volkswagen

@porsche_coyote thanks - my google results were not that complete…

I know we'll have support in the future, but I'm guessing MY'2023 is when this will start showing up in vehicles…

Luke,
In my 4 S the charging start time shows up one hour behind actual time which the car displays in the instrument cluster correctly. I started charging at 4PM. Can this be set?

If you are referring to the time on the charging screen, it is my understanding that it reflects the time when the charging will be completed based on a profile if AC charging and 100% if DC charging. So if the time is an hour later than the current time, then the charging will be finished in an hour.

Here is another Question for Luke or anyone else from another forum as I am not sure what the 150kw/400V is really needed when using EA in the USA. Can someone comment on this other thread:

Hi

I am configurating my Porsche online as I am ready to order it however I was wondering what these two choices meant?

There is the 'Onboard DC charger 150kw' and then there is the 'Public charging cable (mode 3) '

For the public charging cable, would the chargers in the UK at the supermarkets and motorway service stations not have a cable with their chargers already?
Onboard DC charger 150KW is to allow you to use 400V chargers at 150KW.

The concensus seems to be (from anyone but the dealer) that any charger over 50KW will be 800V anyway, so it's probably a useless option, at least in the UK and probably a good chunk of Europe. I think most people spec it "just in case" though.

Cable: Another "just in case" (unless you have an untethered charger at home or work), but there's no way I'm leasing one, so I'll just buy one of these:

Thanks for helping us out!
I currently have both of these comfort unlocking options on. Can you tell me the difference and if it’s best to only have one on or if both are better.

The first option, you walk up and put you hand under the handle and it will open. The second as you approach the handles show themselves.

Hello everyone!

Some fellow members asked me to create a "Ask a Taycan Dealer Anything" thread on the forum.

My name is Luke, and I am the Taycan Specialist/Sales Experience Manager at Porsche Grapevine in Grapevine, Texas (Dallas/Ft. Worth area). I have been to two separate Taycan training in Atlanta and Los Angeles. Before working at Porsche I worked at Tesla (in NYC and DFW) for almost 3 years.

Would love to help anyone I can with their Taycan ownership experience! I have communication with our service team here at the dealership, and Porsche Cars North America (PCNA) to help assist with any Taycan issues as best as I can. Also if you need help ordering, or are looking for an available car I can certainly help with that as well! ;)

So, feel free! Ask A Porsche Dealer Anything:
Luke,

I'm wondering if you can tell me whether MY 2021 is coming with the colors and features Asia is getting? The page Porsche NA website shows the same stuff avoidable for the 2020, but I understand needed on your post that you've already taken 2021 orders. I'm a bit confused.

Hello, can you tell us if it would be possible to update the firmware to allow closing of the boot/trunk via the keyfob or touchscreen! Strange as if sitting inside the car we have to get out to go close it.

Can you not just "press and hold" the button when the boot is open to close it? A bit like cars that have a physical button?

I can do this from inside the car, maybe a comfort access feature? I just press and hold the button on the lower screen to close.
