Can you not just "press and hold" the button when the boot is open to close it? A bit like cars that have a physical button?
You can only do it from inside the car, or with the buttons on the trunk. No way to do it from the key fob unfortunately.

Luke,

I'm wondering if you can tell me whether MY 2021 is coming with the colors and features Asia is getting? The page Porsche NA website shows the same stuff avoidable for the 2020, but I understand needed on your post that you've already taken 2021 orders. I'm a bit confused.
Let me screen shot all of the Standard Equipment for MY 21' Taycan 4S build, that might be helpful.

Here is another Question for Luke or anyone else from another forum as I am not sure what the 150kw/400V is really needed when using EA in the USA. Can someone comment on this other thread:

Onboard DC charger 150KW is to allow you to use 400V chargers at 150KW.
https://electricrevs.com/2019/11/19...uyers-pay-for-the-optional-150-kw-dc-charger/
The concensus seems to be (from anyone but the dealer) that any charger over 50KW will be 800V anyway, so it's probably a useless option, at least in the UK and probably a good chunk of Europe. I think most people spec it "just in case" though.

Cable: Another "just in case" (unless you have an untethered charger at home or work), but there's no way I'm leasing one, so I'll just buy one of these:
https://evonestop.co.uk/collections...p-3-6-7-2-kw-5-10-metre?variant=9690528874543
I would option on the 150kW/400V option, but some users on this forum and others I have spoken to have reiterated that the usefulness of this feature might not be utilized a ton in certain countries.

As far as the cable goes, I'm no exactly sure what you'd use that for. Most of the stations that I have stopped at have had their own cable. I'm guessing this would be for a station without a cable? Probably not a bad idea to have one, but I'd say probably 99% of the public charging stations I'd encounter here in the US are going to have a cable at the station.

I'm going to predict @LukeManning 's answer - Porsche has not yet committed to Apple Car Keys…

it's very unlikely we'll hear about this for the Taycan before other Porsche Vehicles- this will need to be integrated into he supply chain and different offerings from porsche are in different phases of their refresh cycle - like CarPlay support it will come to the Porsche line "over time" as each vehicle presents it's opportunity to have the necessary hardware integrated into their design and supply chain…

google search yields no announcement from Porsche (or VW/Audi) at this time.
You predicted correct sir :CWL:

Just posted a thread with all the Standard Features and Technical data for US MY21' Taycan 4S.

All colors that are available in Asia market will be available in US market. Not sure about the "Standard Features" though as I cannot see their configurator. I would assume they'd be roughly the same Standard Features though.

Hello Luke, With so many people complaining about the PCM in the Taycan there are 3 questions:

1. Are the Global server connect issues (ie customers not being able to connect) being worked on with any fix coming in the near term?

2. Is Porsche always going to require cars coming in to the service centre for software updates or is there a plan to move more updates to OTA - and when will customers see that happening?

3. Do you know of any planned major updates due in the coming weeks. There are reports (unsubstantiated) that one such big update is due first weeks of Nov and is now being installed on current production line cars. Are you aware of this and can you elaborate on the details?

Thanks

1. Yes. Porsche is well aware that the server issues are becoming more and more troublesome as more Taycan come online. I am hopeful that by the beginning of 2021 we will start to see major improvements in system connectivity and improved server response. I think a lot of this will come from Porsche realizing they're going to need more servers in more locations, not just in Germany. That being said, as many people have commented on here - Porsche's strong suit has never been infotainment/server/app development so I wait for better days.

2. There actually was a recent software update that was done OTA that some of my clients reported seemed to have more responsiveness in the overall PCM and InnoDrive system. The layout of the home screen changed as well to eliminate having to scroll down. Porsche's plan is to basically have quarterly OTA software updates, monthly navigation updates, and one major software update done at the dealership once a year (with eventual plans to do only at the 2 Year service mark). I think with it being the early days of the car being out though, they want to install at the dealership to ensure all the software is being properly loaded into the car. I am hopeful in 2021 we will start to see the majority of software updates being done OTA.

3. I don't really keep up with the updates as much as the community does here. I have not seen any internal bulletins about a November software update, and even if I did I probably couldn't/shouldn't comment on something that hasn't been released to the public yet.

Hope that helps answer some questions!

Thanks for the great response, @LukeManning

Has anyone received an OTA update that Luke mentioned - "The layout of the home screen changed as well to eliminate having to scroll down. "

Another question for Luke.
When the 12V battery is dead and you enter the car with your manual key, can you still flip the backseats down? If so, we could keep our 12V charger and battery booster back there instead of needing to keep them in the passenger compartment for access in case of a 12V emergency.

Hi Luke,
Do you guys know anything about the servicing on a Taycan yet - intervals and more importantly, expected costs? I'd like to think there's not that much to service, but I'm sure Porsche will find something expensive to change ;)

.....Thanks again Luke. As a follow-up question to @moballa,is there any action required on our end to receive these OTA updates, or do they just happen in the background, etc? You reported "some" of your clients had referenced this but I would think they'd apply across the board, at least Country-specific. Appreciate your feedback here.

Make sure that Online software updates are enabled in your Taycan, and in your MyPorsche account.

The OTA updates roll out I believe in terms of production. So the Taycan that were first delivered will receive the updates first.

Some vehicles that have already exited production/been delivered have already received the update so your vehicle might not need to be updated.
