4S+ w. 18 way sport seats in Norway, no tensioner. Did try some Turbos and Turbo Ss which did have it, but those were German registered demo cars.

I took U.S. delivery of a 4S in August and mine does not have this feature. I have 18 way sport seats.
My service advisor confirmed it should be functional on my build and not tied to any settings.

Took delivery of my21 Gentian blue 4s yesterday! 18 way sports seats, seatbelts tighten when I reach 18miles/hr.
Thanks for confirming. Did you take any additional features such as lane departure warning or anything like that which may incorporate this as a feature maybe?

I do have lane change assist, etc. But unlikely this feature is related to driving assist features of any kind.

I seem to recall on my previous M3 the auto seatbelt tightening was linked to a safety package which included lane change assist etc so that was my thought process.

I think it must be linked to something as some people are saying they have 4S with 18 way seats but no auto tightening belts.. Its strange

Hi, my 4S collected 2 weeks ago does not do it but it may be something that needs to be enabled within a menu.
I recall a couple of Mercedes that had this as standard and it caught passengers out each time when you drove away.

What seats did you go for Howie?

I was at a Porsche event on a racetrack in NY state today and asked the Porsche product specialist on site about the automatically tightening seat belts. He told me that it comes on Taycans with ACC but not on those without ACC. I presume that this answer is relevant for the US but not necessarily for other countries? Observation sample of one: my own Taycan 4S does not have ACC and also does not tighten its seat belts.

Explains a lot of confusion.

Forget about the seat belts, tell us more about the event! And did it include a promotion for buying a new Porsche? (When I went to the "roadshow" a long time ago the benefit was 3 years free maintenance.)

No obvious extra promotions to buy a Taycan that I heard of. I guess the car sells itself well enough... It was actually a very pleasant event at the Monticello race track in New York with a limited number of participants and plenty of cars and instructors. Social distancing and mask-wearing were respected well and everybody was guided by the instructor via walkie-talkies. We had a session with a four-cars train following the instructor for a couple of high-speed laps in a Taycan after which we switched into a 911 and did the same couple of high-speed laps so that we could experience the difference. (I must say that the 911 experience was more visceral and slightly more dramatic because of the sound and the shudders but the Taycan was as fast and agile in a no-drama very comfortable way. It somehow felt like a comparison between a glorious past and an exciting future.) We also had a launch control session and an individual session where we followed the instructor who commented on our racing lines to help improve those. This one-on-one session was where I finally convinced my wife to drive a Taycan herself (she refused to drive mine so far): "Darling, if you wreck it, it is their car, not ours."
As important, this was my first longer excursion with my own Taycan: 240 miles round-trip. The car behaved beautifully and I could easily have done it on a single 100% home charge with 20 or 30 miles to spare, despite the wet and chilly weather. However, I wanted to test DC charging on the road and tried a random 50 kW EVgo charger where I added ten minutes worth of juice without a glitch. Worked as advertised.
Bottom line: a very good day!
