Earlier this week I was charging my 2022 RWD at the Electrify America station at the Las Vegas (Nevada USA) South Premium Outlets. This station was fenced off in early October, but the construction is complete. It looks like the next generation of EA chargers were installed, and folks took the time to paint the charging speeds in the parking space.

In the past I had to carefully nose up to the old front-facing charger for its cable to reach my Taycan's charge port. The cable on the new charger, however, has a longer reach (and is more Taycan-friendly) thanks to thanks to an automatic re-coiling device installed at the upper left.

Does anybody know any more about the new chargers? Are they more reliable than the old ones? The one I used worked just fine.

Here is an article ,which, among other things, describes EA's "next generation" charging stations. Some of the new ones will have "balanced charging", which adapts/shares charging between adjacent vehicles. I have used some of these new generation chargers, but not enough to compare reliability.

one can only hope they are more reliable - I look forward to finding out or hearing about progress.
