Very confusing! The chap that came round sells and installs solar, has solar at home, has an ev and said you can’t combine these tariffs, if you have battery.

It does suggest on the site you can’t have octopus outgoing if you have batteries? ( not sure how they regulate this if you lie?)

It doesn’t say you can’t have a battery. Octopus Outgoing was conceived for people without a battery so they can export their excess solar generation at a decent rate (15p) when they can’t store it themselves.

Well I have Intelligent Octopus Go, export tariff at 15p, solar panels and batteries. I think you actually have a separate contract for import and export. So you could use Ovo for your supplier but Octopus for your export. They must be able to work out I have a battery because every time there is a saving session I set the battery to export. Made about £100 so far this year exporting from the battery during these sessions. Works fine… for now!
