I like my Taycan very much. So I drove about 32.000 Km in the past 6 month.

According to the display I lost about 10% capacity of the battery in 4 month. From 83 KWh in May to 76 KWh in September.

Can this be ?

Battery gets very hot, when charging at Ionity. Start with 30-35°C, end (about 80%) with 51°C (123.8°F).

Goodness me it’s hope that’s not correct and you should definitely check with Porsche as that’s pretty bad degradation so fast! What is snot doing to your driving range now?

Are you sure you have not set this to be your maximum state of charge in the app/car somewhere?

That's two copies of the exact same photo, so I'm not sure if it was intended that we see something different. How are you determining degredation, though? It was my understanding that the range was a guess-o-meter.

I'm confused. What are you using to determine capacity? No customer facing kWh capacity number is available on the Taycan.

You can only speculate by using charging numbers vs SOC %.
Last long trip with 332.6 Kilometer i hat a cunsumption of 21.3 KWh/100 kilometer.
battery was from 100% to 7%. This give a complete capacity of 76.2 KWh of the battary.
4 month ago I had at similar trips capacities of 82 KWh.

Gotcha. Yeah, that's not good. 11% degradation shouldn't be happening within the first 150,000 km.

I'd take it in to the shop.

If it truly has that much degradation that fast, it will go to warranty. So yeah I would take it to the shop to check it out.

When I was watching the Taycan factory video I was trying to figure out if the battery can be swapped out easily or if its too integraged with the chassis.

I've seen people on youtube swap out tesla batteries wonder if you can do the same with the Taycan.

"Curious" to see if there is that much degradation how Porsche react as the battery warranty is as following:
-guarantee 100% of the net capacity at delivery (83.7 kWh)
- up to 3 years respectively 60'000km guarantee of 80% of the net capacity (66.96 kWh)
- up to 8 years respectively 160'000km guarantee of 70% of the net capacity (58.59 kWh)

That degradation seems very high. The can swap faulty/bad cells in the pack. I’d take it to the dealership.

Have you normally been charging to 85% or 100% ? Have you used Ionity or similar very often ? If the warranty is for 80% and 60,000 kms., I am afraid yours is close to the limit. Ouch.

I don't think that's enough data to come to a conclusion about range.

Was the outdoor temperature the same?
Did you have the same climate settings?
Did you have the same amount of people/luagge in the car?
Was it the same road? Same gradient?
Did you accelerate the same way?
Did you have the same regen settings?

I was thinking about the same thing. No two trips are ever the exact same. You can only exactly compare the range of two cars driven on the same route in the same way at the same time.

But I believe that at the shop they could see the true status of the battery in any case.

Have to note that I may have been wrong about the warranty. This case, even if true, may not yet qualify for warranty. But it definitely could in the future.

Always IONITY charging? Always to 100%? Always fast German highway driving? More info, please?
